The ancient volute guest house

Couldn't fault the location at all. However the terrace is shared with a family right next door, and there is no decent fence or gate at this time. They have a large collie dog, which is lovely but very loud barking (can go on late at night so keeps you awake, even with ear plugs in). The family require access through your terrace to come and go 24/7 so you really do have to be mindful. Mum is not happy living next to a a booking.com apartment and as friendly and mindful as you try to be, she's pretty hostile, so don't expect a good morning. Can't blame her though, I'd probably be the same if it was my situation. The apartment was not set up for 3 adults (our party), there was a cot and quilts in the wardrobe, so things had to be moved to try and accommodate us unpacking our bags, and a serious lack of decent coat hangers to hang up dresses etc. Sometimes just the little things make all the difference. Photo's show the board which splits the terrace, and your bedroom window in the family home terrace also, we felt we had to keep the shutters closed the whole week, as this is their space, not the apartment we were in.

Die Lage ist perfekt - nahe Vatikan. Die Wohnung war sauber und komplett mit allem ausgestattet. Wir konnten auch die Koffer gleich bei der Ankunft um 10.30 in der Wohnung lassen (obwohl diese eigentlich erst ab 15.00 zur Verfügung gestellt wird). Das war wirklich sehr nett. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht.

- Die Kleiderkästen waren in beiden Schlafzimmern so vollgeräumt, dass wir (fast) keinen Platz für unsere Kleidung hatten. - Die Terrasse wird mit den Nachbarn geteilt, so dass diese immer vorbeigehen bzw. man immer ein wenig das Gefühl hat, die Nachbarn zu stören.

Borgo Pio location is fantastic, especially for Rome travelers that want to spend time near the Vatican. The street is lively with great outdoor seating restaurants, but also quiet late at night which is great for sleeping.

We loved the location of the apartment - just 500 metres to St Peters and a short walk to Castel Sant' Angelo. There were lots of cafes nearby in the street and a couple of blocks were boutiques and major shops. Transport was handy.

Had to carry suitcases up stairs - only 8 but it was a struggle with large cases. The beds were very firm and uncomfortable, the bedlinen and towels are worn and faded. The second shower and toilet areas are very small.
