The Hosteller Shimla, Valley View

Although it was a bit of a walk to get to centre of Shimla the view made it worth it.

The room was exactly as photos showed and had great view. It was clean and had all I needed

I was really disappointed with the activity booked on their app. Was a 4 to 8hr drive to the key sites of Kufri and other adventure places. Basically the hotel just hires a local taxi to do this. Basic English and the driver had to be told were to go. I think better to just find a taxi yourself that you feel comfortable with. Thought the messaging in the advertisement could be clearer

perfect place to stay - great view, easy short walk up to mall road (mostly stairs) and you can drive and park in front of the hotel

The view from the room was spectacular as you're in the hills overlooking Shimla. The room is modern and spacious. This version of Hosteller is suites only, not hostel.

It was cold and raining in Shimla when we were there and there no heat in the room. There is a thermostat for central heating but it wasn't turned on. We had to rent space heaters at 600 INR per day (should have been 300 INR per their website). Also the location is isolated, far from anything but other hotels. We had a driver so he had to take us places and return us to the hotel. The food at the hotel seemed like microwaved boxed dinners - not great-specially if that's all that is available in the area.
