I arrived on the late ferry and stayed in Moyogalpa. It’s a really nice and small home stay with friendly hosts. Theres a lot of information posted for the island and the hosts will help answer questions you may have. They offer motorbike rentals for a lot less than you find on the island as well (make sure you have a license). I’ll be recommending this home stay while on my travels

A forma atenciosa e gentil como fui recebido, logo na chegada, demonstra a dedicação que este casal entrega naquilo que faz. O quarto era confortável, espaçoso e bastante limpo. A localização é bastante tranquila. Tinha ferry bem cedo e para meu espanto, às 5 da manhã, lá estava o proprietário para se despedir. Tanto a chegada como a partida foram de uma atenção espectacular. Adorei a experiência e voltaria a hospedar-me aqui por mais tempo. Muito obrigado!!

Nada a apontar

Immaculate oasis on a quiet side street near everything you need. Large rooms with gorgeous tile flooring. And really cheap.

Huge room with private bathroom, strong fans, and personal keys for a cheap price. Not a far walk from the ferry dock or restaurants in Moyogalpa. Free towel rental and free drinking water.

I arrived directly after the last ferry, around 7 pm (so a regular time, in my opinion, for people getting to Ometepe island). There was nobody there to welcome me to the establishment, so I had to knock on a door and rouse someone who seemed to be the grandmother of the family home. Who did not have my name, did not know the password to the WiFi, and could not recommend any restaurants to me. She told me to wait for another person to arrive (assumed to be the mother) and that she would be here "soon." I waited for 15 minutes, and she still didn't show up, so I left to find dinner on my devices. When I got back (also at a reasonable time, 9:30), there once again was nobody there to help me or answer questions. Same with the next morning, when I left to find breakfast and rent a scooter. The first time I saw someone who had any information was the next day at 9:30 am. I asked to cancel my second night, and I had to convince her to let me. It was only after I requested this that she offered any sort of help (e.g. renting a scooter, booking tours). Extremely disappointing for such a highly rated accommodation.
