Both Rex and Julieta were excellent hosts and gave us tips and ideas of what to do and where to go. The location was about a 10 minute walk in to the centre of Rivas and 15mins to the bus terminal.

The hosts, both Rex and Julieta was absolutely amazing! Super friendly. Rex gave me so much tips on where to eat and also help me organise my trip to Ometepe island.

Great hospitality as a solo traveler. I really enjoyed my stay. Rex and Julietta were incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home right away. The location in Rivas is definitely worth it and a perfect place to experience the real Nicaragua. It’s authentic, friendly, and a great spot to get a taste of local life. I can definitely recommend staying here!

Location was good, price was OK. Facilities were clean.

No doubt I will get a sarcastic response as Julietta doesn't like to be challenged on anything. Though she will say it's because I had food on my bed (I did not). When I arrived I went straight for a nap, and woke up to tiny ants biting me, they were all over the bed frame, bed, and curtains on the window. (Any food I had was sealed and in a bag hanging on the door with not an ant in sight). She did come and spray and that sorted the problem, but she seems to blame the guests every time even though they are crawling on the curtains too. When I asked to do washing she told me 10cordoba per piece, when I gave her 22pieces(yes underwear counts as 1 piece) she charged me 300..... do the math? Finally, i didn't want to take the taxi she organised as he was charging more than double what it should cost to get to the port, I told her this many times, I'm happy to share that price but not paying it on my own. She booked him anyway, then when I asked if it could be done any cheaper she just sent him away, forgot her English, refused to tell me what safe taxis look like, and told me it's not her problem to organise transport....... FYI maximum rivas Town to port is 100cordoba, no bartering needed. I can only assume all the other reviews that had been so happy with her help paid the $6 to get to the port. Whilst it may not seem much, she is clearly cashing in on this and made me feel she is untrustworthy. If your happy to pay over the odds then she will be delightful to you I'm sure. It's a shame as it let's all the other positive things down.
