Lovely comfortable cabin. Very close to Abergavenny and it's amenities. Owners very friendly and considerate
The Welsh weather in February!
2.0 / 10.0
The accommodation interior was very cozy.
Too many faults, I'll just list them. These are not in order, just numbered to define them.
1) Hard to find, no clear location name in the dark.
2) Aware I was checking in soon but gates to the property were closed. This meant having to park on double yellow lines, literally by a road junction.( 2Mtr s )maybe
3) Apart from one tiny movement activated light, it was dark.
4) The parking space was tiny, luckily I have a tiny car.
5) Was met by I presume the owner, who crept up. I, repeat I, had to engage my phone torch to move about.
6) He said I'd opened the gates the wrong way! I opened in, should have been out apparently.
7) Lovely inside to look at and it was comfortable.
8) No welcome literature of any kind inside. Very very annoyingly there were no instructions how to use the heating or stove. Therefore after a frost the cabin was very cold. No readily available emergency contact (owner) numbers. No information at all about emergency procedures.
9) Bathroom sink tap water temperature was tepid at best. The water from the shower was no problem but very weak.
10) No TV channels bar a few Netflix or whatever. Luckily I don't watch TV, but really?
11) The rugs in the bed room moved as if one was skating. Obviously not rubberised, very dangerous, especially for us more elderly. Actually no, dangerous for any guest.
8a) I forgot to say regarding zero operations instructions. Put my phone on charge and rested it on the hob and I inadvertently turned the hob on. Didn't know how to turn it off.
12) This is the worst, it's extremely poor in my opinion. The 3 rooms are on one level. To get to the bedroom or bathroom one has to step over a c.10cm barrier set into the floor . Found out the hard way, very uncomfortable. Genuinely don't know how this is allowed under any health and safety regulation.
13) I've knowingly stayed at cheap accommodation, that's my decision, I know i would never complain. This wasn't cheap accommodation.

Well described....warm and cosy!
Could add to description that tea, coffee and some condiments/oils provided as that was an unexpected bonus
It was a bit dark to find the lock box but the host appeared and showed us, but I dont think we would have found the keys otherwise!
Shower hot but not powerful.
Only problem we had was working the tv which we failed to do...some instructions would be helpful

Very good location, walking distance to Abergavenny and nearby supermarkets. Very good for exploring Brecon Beacons and area close to Abergavenny. Very cosy accommodation, we were very warm despite it being quite cold outside, very good bathroom and reasonable kitchen. Host was very nice and attentive. Off street parking at the accommodation was very handy. The bed was super comfortable and we excellent sleep for both nights we stayed.
It was all good.

Lovely set up and all very clean, newly decorated and cosy. It had a lovely log cabin feel. The kitchen was well equipped for a decent length stay, shower was warm and powerful and bed was so comfy- just what we needed after a day in the mountains! Great location just outside abergavenny and peaceful. We enjoyed a cup of tea in the garden/ outside seating area before we left on Sunday. Would recommend and book again if we are in the area 😁
We ended up parking on the road as it would have been a squeeze/ faff with gates and I had a v early start on Saturday for a race, so didn't want to disturb anyone- not that it bothered us at all.

Great location, set in a private garden with on site secure parking. Short drive to Abergavenny and very comfortable.
No written instructions on use of tv and its 3 remote controls and the induction stove also. More detailed instructions for property location eg name of nearest cross street.

My brother and I booked the cosy cottage as a base to attend our cousin's wedding in Abergavenny. We couldn't have wished for anything better. Its a lovely, cosy little cabin with everything we needed. A 20 minute walk into Abergavenny meant it was really handy for the event. Comfortable and cosy place to come back to and a TV to watch on the rainy afternoon we had. The location is really quiet at night-time so we slept really well. The hosts were lovely too.
There was nothing we didn't like and hope to come back again.

Accommodation comfortable. Area of Wales excellent.
Precise location of key box would help. Access directions could be better ie satnav takes you to Church St, House address is Merthyr Rd but the entrance to house and cabin is off another road on the other side of the property. Full instructions on heating would help. Fitting a TV aerial to pick up the range of freeview channels would be of benefit. Hosts friendly and helpful.

location was about 20/25 min walk into Abergavenny.
didn't spend much time in the cabin but it was perfectly fine. Futon lounge bed not the most comfortable.
thought it was more remote and not in a small housing estate but perfectly adequate for our needs.

The cabin was really nice and comfortable, with open air space to chill.
The shower didn't have much pressure

The Cwtch is a really cute and beautiful lodge which felt like home from home.
Everything was ready for us when we arrived with ample parking. My partner only met Peter during our stay, who was very approachable and friendly. Although the hosts house was on the other side of the garden, we felt our privacy was honoured and were able to enjoy their beautiful garden from the decking outside the cabin at all times of the day.
The facilities are well thought out and there were more kitchen and bathroom utensils available than expected.
The bed was extremely comfy and we slept really well during our stay. The bathroom is a great space and although the shower could do with a bit more pressure power, it was hot and did the job!
Everything was clean and it was warm and cosy with the heaters on in the evening.
We spent the days exploring Abergavenny, Brecon, Pontsticill, Blaenavon and various other places, walking, mooching the towns, doing tourist activities, eating out in lovely cafes and restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and would highly recommend it to others, as well as revisit ourselves.
Thanks very much Karen and Peter.

Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, private location in a pretty garden with handy adjacent parking. Very convenient for Abergavenny and surrounding countryside.
A problem with electrics on arrival but owners readily resolved this once they got home 90 minutes later.
