It's self-catering and we were on a cycling holiday, so we really appreciated finding the makings of tea/coffee available when we arrived And our stay was during the hottest part of the late June heatwave so we were very grateful for the many bottles of water ready for us in the fridge. The hosts also gave us good directions to a nearby traffic-free short route for cycling (or walking) right into the middle of town.

The Lodge is cosy, clean, comfortable and an excellent place to stay. Close to Bury St Edmund’s and surrounding areas. Easy parking, WiFi and TV streaming channels. I thoroughly enjoyed my two days stay.

Very well equipped room with a separate kitchen & a fridge freezer.
When we arrived the place looked like a building site. The entrance hall had dirty foot prints & the laminate floor in the room was covered in brick dust that stuck to my socks. The shower was faulty, going from hot to cold. The ensuite was tiny so we had to dry off in the room. There was a full length mirror dangerously propped up beside the bed instead of being on the wall. The bed springs creaked every time we moved & the mattress was uncomfortable.
