Ficus Corner - Vatican

Maurizio was an extremely friendly and welcoming host for our first visit to Rome. He met my husband and me at the apartment, showed us around personally, and made us feel comfortable immediately. We were also welcomed with a chilled bottle of sparkling rosé in the refrigerator, which was a very thoughtful touch after a long day of travel. The apartment itself was very comfortable, clean, and exceptionally well kept. Rather than feeling overly modern, the furnishings had a timeless, classic style that gave the apartment a great sense of character and warmth. We especially appreciated the personal touches throughout the space, including framed photographs, artwork, and decor that made the apartment feel genuinely lived in and cared for rather than generic or staged. It felt elegant, authentic, and inviting. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms appeared recently updated, and everything worked well, including the air conditioning. It was also very convenient having two bathrooms, especially when getting ready in the mornings. We appreciated having access to a washing machine, drying racks, laundry soap, and strong, reliable Wi-Fi throughout the apartment. One thing that really stood out was Maurizio’s communication and attention to detail. When we asked for local recommendations, instead of simply sending a list of names, he shared a Google map link through WhatsApp with restaurants, markets, cafes, and other places pinned throughout the area. Even though we ended up exploring and finding many places on our own while visiting Rome, we thought this was an incredibly thoughtful and helpful touch that we had not experienced before. We also really valued how safe and secure the building felt. The secure entrance downstairs gave us peace of mind, and even returning at different hours of the day and evening, we always felt comfortable in the neighborhood.

There was honestly very little that we did not like about the property. One of the bathroom showers drained a little slowly during our stay, but Maurizio immediately offered to come by and address it, which we appreciated. It was a very minor issue and did not negatively impact our overall experience. For us, the location worked out perfectly. While the apartment is not directly in the middle of the main tourist areas, the subway system was less than a 10-minute walk away and made it very easy to quickly reach Rome’s major attractions. We also appreciated being in a neighborhood that felt more local and less crowded with tourists, while still having several great places to eat nearby. In fact, one of our favorite meals of the trip was at a trattoria near the subway station.

Mi è piaciuta moltissimo la location, a 20 minuti da Città del Vaticano, molti mezzi pubblici a pochi minuti, zona residenziale con negozi e bar e ristoranti. La gentilezza e cortesia della proprietaria direi insuperabile nel soddisfare qualsiasi richiesta( orario, aspirapolvere per fare sottovuoto per vestiti per mia valigia, etc. Pulizia impeccabile!! Anche qualche cosa da sgranocchiare all’arrivo come patatine fritte, grissini e canestrelli hanno completato la cura(c’erano anche delle bollicine).
