Charming 2-bedroom house with WiFi and AC in lovely Ukiah

I was in town on business, solo traveler. The VRBO page shows a different neighborhood. I grew up here so I know the neighborhoods well. I picked it because it showed the house in a decent neighborhood. When I got the address, the day before checking in, I realized it was nowhere near the location advertised. That could be VRBO’s fault. It’s located on a very sketchy neighborhood, with homeless sleeping across and up the street. Next door is a lot with an old building and abandoned RVs. The back yard view is a lumber yard. I stayed inside, so didn’t care about the view, but worried about my car at night. While I had no issues, it was nervous most of the time. This was a biz trip, and I only slept there… so it was fine for me. I would not want my wife or family staying there. Again, inside was fixed up nice. It’s just the neighborhood. Truth be told, anywhere near downtown ukiah will have homeless issues. I saw four drug deals going down on this s street as I was drinking to and from the house. Bed was comfortable, and kitchen living room was serviceable. No real Interaction with the owners other than email instruction. You have to go outside to an attached room for the washer/dryer. I probably would not use this place again, but again… Ukiah does not have a lot of options other than hotels. I’ll look for something away from town, in the country in the future.
