Golden Hour Villa in Peggy's Cove Rd

excellent facility

none

The facility was clean with an unusual layout. 3 floors with a bedroom on each floor. 2nd floor kitchen, living, bedroom combo, with beautiful a view overlooking the water. Decently kitted kitchen.

Could use instructions on how to use Smeg coffee maker. You need to warn guests to mind their heads going up to the 3rd floor. Limited privacy between bedrooms.

This is one of those few accommodations where the actual place turns out to be more than the text and images describe. We were a group of 5 adults, and all of us were delighted by this uniquely renovated and designed house of 3 floors. A lot of creative and competent thought went into every room and aspect of this villa: high quality beds and bedding, lots of towels, very well outfitted kitchen (with lots of good basics on hand), high quality appliances, excellent in-room laundry facilities, wonderful views of the bay from all 3 floors, a large front deck with barbeque, motion-sensor lights for after hour access, easy to use room heat/cooling controls. The hosts were quick to respond to our few communications about check-in, and their access instructions were very clear. There were lots of great restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as groceries. I would absolutely stay here again (and again), for any future stays in the Halifax area.

The driveway access of switchbacks is somewhat challenging owing to the nature of the terrain. I would recommend that first-timers approach the property from the south, rather than the north, if traffic is heavy - as it was when I first approached. But once the driveway has been done once, it's a known quantity and not a big deal. The parking facilities are perfect.

Liked the space and view from deck

Im not trying to complain about the people who own it but it should have pictures of the outside before we spent that kind of money. Theres a house 10 feet away that looks like a hoarders house with couches ,bed and loads of other stuff all over place. Plus says 3 bedroom which it has 3 beds bed ones in open lower level other is in kitchen area and last in attic and none have doors so no privacy. It was nice and quiet but just wish we knew what was beside us when we got there. Plus there was 3 cars around us with plates from Ontario and halifax with one tucked in woods behind our parking. So my son was sketched out lol but in end we had good time.
