Central Retreat

Lovely hosts. Situated within walking distance to town and the lake (if your staying during Ironman it’s a 5 minute walk to the transition area, <20 minutes to the finish village). Bonus of a post race spa bath. Relatively straightforward drive to/from the airport. Bedroom and living area well appointed and with enough space for luggage or race gear. Hosts flexible with check in / out around other bookings allowing for pre IM race prep/pack down

I doubt I will have any better accommodation on my entire trip - the bed was incredibly comfortable, the lounge very spacious and so easy to feel at home in and the bathroom was something else - what a bath and a large walk in shower too. It felt like luxury and puts some hotel suites to shame. It was also an easy walk down to lake shore and into town. Wi fi worked great too. To top it off, I had a great welcome from the lovely host who was very helpful with some local tips which I managed to squeeze in and was glad I did. Hopefully one day Ill get back to NZ and if I do this will be a no brainer to book again.

The property was beautiful…… Margaret, our host, was amazing…. Offering advice and guidance about the area for restaurants and place a to visit. The property is beautifully presented and immaculately clean. Great nights sleep on the most comfortable bed! Living space very comfortable and the most amazing bathroom I have ever seen….. shower just wonderful! The property is a short walk to the lake and slightly longer walk into town so ideally placed. Parking available. Really enjoyed our stay here.

The accommodation was well appointed, the rooms were big and the shower . . . . . I want one like it at home. It is centrally located to both town and the lake. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Would highly recommend.
