Chez Jacquou

La caseta és molt bonica, està al mig de la natura però sense estar aïllada. Menjador, cuina i sala d’estar amplis. Una llar de foc ideal pels dies de més fred. L’espai exterior és excel·lent per estar amb amics i nens. La propietària és molt atenta i hospitalària.

El que menys ens ha agradat és que els llits eren una mica petits, que el wifi no era prou potent i que la nevera era una mica petita si volies fer molts àpats a casa.

The property has been sensitively renovated providing a real ‘home away from home’ feeling. The views are exceptional and to be surrounded by the local wildlife was a real treat too. The property was roomy and comfortable with plenty of space to relax together as a family.

The upstairs shower head was a little leaky but this is a completely minor observation!

The converted barn was in a wonderful rural Location with stunning views of the fields . The pool was perfect size and clean. Equipped with everything we needed Beautiful swallows flying low over the pool Close to Bergerac

Lots of mosquitoes this time of year . But the hosts left us plug ins and repellent .

View from terrace. Proximity to Bergerac. Quiet location. Air conditioning in upstairs bedroom. Access to swimming pool. Good quality barbecue. The owners were away. They had arranged for an employee or friend (Christian) to welcome us. He did very well and was very helpful. Despite speaking no English. His efforts were appreciated

The amount of mosquitos/insects. The whole family were covered in bites despite using candles, sprays etc. We were unaware of the presence or proximity of horses which I'm sure did not help. The very broken fly swatter ought to have been replaced for a new item. The owners huge Irish wolfhound type dog wandered onto the terrace a few times making us jump. Whilst it was not aggressive, it was intimidating, unexpected and unwelcome. Cleanliness- the barbecue grill was dirty from its previous use - as was the oven tray and a couple of saucepans. There were stains on the pillow(not the case) that appeared to be blood. There was a large crack the length of the dining table - this was full of crumbs and dead insects. The ground floor bedroom was NOT advertised with air conditioning. The owners had placed a portable air conditioning unit there which was a nice thought. However, it was so loud that it had to be turned off at night. The property seemed generally 'tired': The three entrance doors to the property were extremely difficult to close - particularly the door onto the terrace. We feared that a pane of glass might be broken when shutting - or the handles coming off. There was a cigarette burn in one of the chairs. Only one ceiling light worked in the ground floor bedroom - and this would flash on and off. The decking area with the table and chairs was not usable due to overgrown foliage. The entrance gates to the pool had both dropped and did not close properly. Two out the three parasols were broken - one had no cover rendering it useless. The parasol bases were inadequate, causing parasols to fall with only minor gusts of wind. A couple of the sunbeds around the pool had split and damaged covers. The foliage around the pool and entrance to the pool was overgrown. The accommodation lacked an adequately sized fridge freezer for a family holiday. This meant numerous visits to a supermarket.
