Alikis House

The house is located in a quiet area, away from the main road and traffic. It has three levels: Basement: one bedroom with air conditioning and a toilet (which can be a bit noisy). Ground floor: a dining area, a living room with a sofa, a fully equipped kitchen, and a balcony. First floor: two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a balcony that is accessible from both bedrooms. The house faces west, so the sun only reaches the windows in the late afternoon and evening. Every room has its own air conditioner, allowing guests to set the temperature to their preference. The upstairs bathroom is spacious and has a window, providing plenty of natural light and ventilation. The beds are comfortable, and each bedroom offers ample wardrobe space for clothes. In addition, all windows are fitted with blackout shutters and mosquito screens. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for cooking, although a toaster would be a nice addition.

First of all, the property owner is a very pleasant lady from Germany, whom we spoke with briefly at the beginning. She then introduced us to the local contact, a Greek gentleman who unfortunately spoke very little English, which made communication difficult. The first issue was on arrival, when we were told the house had only two bedrooms instead of the three advertised on Booking.com, as the basement was not opened due to low occupancy. After we explained we had booked the entire house, the third bedroom was made available - unlock that door.. The second issue occurred after returning from the beach, when there was no water in the house at all. We were told, “These things happen in Greece.” No further help or guidance was offered, such as checking the cause(with the neighbours or the water company) or suggesting where to get some water to wash the salt off. The final issue was on departure. We informed the contact of our planned checkout and asked about leaving the keys on the table and close the door behind us, to which he replied “OK.” However, after we left he later called and shouted at us to come back, despite having his own key and the house being left clean. Regarding the house, there was no housekeeping during our 9-night stay—no cleaning, no towel or linen change, and no rubbish collection. Extra bin bags would have been helpful. Finally, there is some daytime construction noise from three houses being built opposite the property.

Everything was perfect, clean and beyond our expectations- the house was really big, it had everything people need for their stay- dishes, cups, a lot of utensils, washing gels, soaps, extra sheets, towels, etc. The balconies were spatious and perfect to hang out in the evenings or drink your coffee in the mornings. The house is also close to the cleanest beach area and a really great and cheap beach bar / restaurant with great food and drinks for reasonable prices (called Cosmos). We were really satisfied and recommend this place.
