Great location, plenty of space, comfortable. We enjoyed nearby attractions, had a lovely dinner at Sutton Inn and a really enjoyable brunch at Exeter General Store.

We couldn’t get the fireplace to work. Wood wasn’t provided and we bought timber, so that was a bit disappointing. Some of the kitchen equipment could have been cleaner (I’m a bit fussy).

The location and view was exceptional. Great open plan living and kitchen area - a warm and inviting communal space. Spacious bedrooms. Huge amount of books, dvds, games for entertainment.

The general cleanliness was disappointing. Lots of dust on floors and furniture in the living areas. The oven needed a good clean. The shared bathroom had scum rings in the sink and the toilet brush was very dirty, The fireplace had not been cleaned out and whilst when speaking with the owner on arrival regarding heating we were informed we could use the fire however there was no kindling or firewood provided, instead we were told we could drive to the nearby service station to purchase. Additionally, communication was not so great. I messaged to ask for the key code to access the house keys on the morning of arrival. The message was not responded to. I rang the number provided on booking.com on arrival but the call went straight to voicemail. Luckily the owner had called me the day before on a different number so I was able to go back through my phone and contact him so we could gain access to the house. It was a lot of messing around on arrival, late in the afternoon after driving.

I was not given any instructions on how to enter the property. I had to repeatedly contact the numbers given on booking.com with no answer. Eventually I was able to contact someone. There wasn't any general supplies like laundry liquid, tea towels, coffee, tea. The toiletries were basic no brands. The outside of the property was not maintained and dirty. The general feeling of the property is dirty and neglected.
