THE LODGE by Eco Love

Estuvimos ahí hace unos días. Nos gustó todo, desde que llegamos en nuestro tuk tuk y aparcamos en el jardín de la casa. Una vecina nos ayudó a encontrarlo, pero desde que llegamos nos quedamos realmente sorprendidos, es mucho mejor de lo que esperábamos. La habitación es preciosa, muy espaciosa y muy cómoda. Tiene todo lo necesario y más, incluso una zona para comer, si quieres. Está construida sobre unas rocas, es increíble. El desayuno es tradicional y está buenísimo. El dueño es encantador y se preocupa porque estés cómodo en todo momento. A mí me encantó el jabón de la ducha y me regaló uno y me explicó donde estaba la tienda para comprarlos... y allá me fui a comprar más!!! Tenemos un grato recuerdo de nuestra experiencia en este lugar!!

Nos gustó todo, no podemos decir nada malo de este sitio, y menos de su dueño... muchísimas gracias por todo!!!

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von der ganzen Familie empfangen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und modern. Man fühlte sich einfach sofort wohl! Zum Frühstück wurde frisch gekocht… sehr lecker!

Es war rundum perfekt.

Very friendly host family! Clean room, cozy bed and nice clean bathroom. Quiet at night. Incredible Sri Lankan breakfast! Everything perfect! The family offers for free bicycles to get into Galle. Distance to Galle Fort is manageable.

There is nothing to dislike!

We stayed here for three days and felt very comfortable. The cottage built in the garden of the family is very stylishly furnished and has everything you need. Great interior design. It even has a very large refrigerator, dishes, and a sink. Malik and his family take really good care of their guests. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful (so much so that we made ourselves packed lunches). And Malik's brother once brought us some delicious homemade cookies, just because I had told him that I like sweets. You can borrow two bicycles for free, which we did once to explore the surrounding area and ride through the rice fields. Malik is a very good contact when it comes to organizing excursions. He gave us great tips and organized a good driver for a day trip to the rainforest. He also speaks excellent English (which is unfortunately not often the case in Sri Lanka), so it's easy to have a conversation with him. He is an awesome guide himself and spent a morning showing us around the old town and fort of Galle, and we learned lots of new and interesting things. Highly recommend to go on a guided tour with him, if he is around. If we come back to Galle, we will definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately, the seating in the garden in front of the cottage is not very comfortable. If it rains, you can only stay inside because there is no covered area in the garden. The climate inside the house is very humid, so laundry doesn't dry there. You can only dry it by putting it outside in the sun. One night it rained very heavily and water dripped through the roof in a few places. Malik promised he would repair it as soon as possible. And at night, monkeys sometimes jump across the roof and make quite a lot of noise. But that's just nature and the owner is not to blame.
