BEWARE OF THE SCAMMER!

The attitude of the landlord was poor and deceiptful. I've booked the place only for the apparent low price. However, after half and hour I've received a message saying I have to pay £150 deposit for any broken or missing object. I've checked if it states something like that in the Policy or Description, but nothing. Later on I've noticed stating it in another place where you normally don't look. I went to a hotel because I could notice there might be a scam. Basically, the landlord is scamming people by using a non-refund policy. Once you make the booking you can't get a refund and I've noticed in some other reviews that she uses all sorts of reasons to keep the deposit or part of it. Unfortunately, I haven't read the reviews beforehand. Never again!

Terrible

Charged us £150 deposit and refused to refund for a food stain on the bed which I was happy for her to take but not taking the whole £150 and claiming there was excessive steam but there definitely Wasn’t as we both had 1 shower each an was told in the description when staying to keep the windows shut ?

Lady was awkward

Lady insisted that I left £150 deposit for one night I was not using any facilities only sleeping there , she knew my wife was in hospital , had no sympathy at all and would not let me stay without the deposit I am elderly and didn’t know how to transfer money via online banking Stressful situation ended up driving home 3 hours , then returning to collect my wife next day another 3 hour drive

I stayed at Lorton Villa for a short trip and honestly had a really good experience. The place was warm and well heated, which I appreciated and the bed was actually comfortable (always a win when you’re traveling). I slept well the whole time. The host was super friendly and helpful, easy to communicate with, and made everything straightforward. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and my deposit was returned within a few days with no issues at all. Overall it just felt like a relaxed, no-stress place to stay. I felt comfortable there as a female traveler and would stay again if I’m in the area.

Deceitful and heartless host

The fact that the host deceived a first timer face to face who couldn’t afford the deposit and asked for the reservation refund, only to be told by the same host that I should go on booking.com and apply for a refund, only for her not to approve. Disheartening, deceitful and a despicable behaviour

Cracking stay – safe, comfy and proper easy going

Booked in here last minute and honestly wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out to be a cracking little stay. Place felt well secure, no dodgy vibes at all, and everything was nice and straightforward. Room was spot on – clean, warm, comfy bed, no complaints. Proper decent night’s sleep after a long day out and about. Kitchen access was a bonus too. Sorted myself some food, made a brew, all easy. House is quiet, relaxed and you’ve got your own space without anyone in your face. All in all, solid stay. Good value, safe, comfortable – I’d happily come back again.

Hugely disappointing

Ad says , 1 bedroom villa with a log burner , you actually stay in someone's house where they live in a spare bedroom , I was charged £100 deposit , had to ask for it back and only received £70 back because of a small stain on the bedding ? and was accused of stealing a phone charger , I booked at short notice and perhaps didn't read some of this small print but I would never stay again and can't recommend at all

Perfect Stay for a Solo Female Traveler – Safe, Spotless, and Exceptionally Comfortable

I stayed here for a few nights on my own and had such a positive experience. The room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and the en-suite bathroom was one of the nicest I’ve had in this price range – modern, powerful shower, and very clean. As a solo female traveler, I really pay attention to how safe and secure a place feels, and I was genuinely impressed. The property has secure locks on the doors, which gave me complete peace of mind both at night and when I went out during the day. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, and I felt completely at ease walking back in the evening. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you’d need for cooking – much better than most homestays – and everything was spotless. The host was kind, easy to contact, and clearly cares about guests’ comfort. I’d absolutely recommend this place to any solo traveler looking for somewhere clean, comfortable, and safe to stay in St Helens. It’s great value and felt like a home away from home. Score: 10/10

While my room was very comfortable—kitchen had great facility, I would not stay here again simply because of security.

The bed was clean and comfortable. The en-suite bath was outstanding.

I did not like that I did not have a proper lock on my door. A hook lock is not sufficient for a solo female traveler. I also didn’t like that I could not lock my room when I left for the day. This is a fatal flaw for me as a solo traveler.

OK for a short, cheap stay, otherwise very limited facilities

Bed was comfortable at a quiet location. Pleasant host and convenient access to the building and parking was good.

Although not really an issue for me, there are a few downsides also considering the price. Bedroom is rather sparse - no TV, no desk. Simply a bed, wardrobe and side table. Breakfast was also limited with only cereal/toast and tea/coffee. Although advertised with log burner, the lounge was not really part of the stay, hence for awareness stay is confined to bedroom.

An amazing place to visit.

An amazing place to stay,I never wanted to leave. The location is absolutely great countryside. Allow you to communicate with nature, giving you the best relaxing feeling you can ever imagine. The owner of the space is very welcoming with a great creative mind. I was so blown away with her choice of interior finishings. I will recommend the villa to anyone over and over.

Free parking is very good here, which I like. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with everything you need for a nice stay. Staff are kind and helpful, always smiling. Location is close to everything, but still quiet for sleeping. For me, it feels homely, like family place. I would come back again.

One night stay at lorton

The host was lovely, had a really amazing conversation and she was very warm and accommodating. The house was very clean and well kept. The room was also really clean and tidy with a large bed which was comfy. I would definitely recommend to anybody who is staying for a few nights like myself.

I would happily stay at this property again. It offered everything needed for my short stay.

The house is close to the dual carriageway that runs through the edge of St Helens and is easy to find. This 1950s semi is beautifully decorated with a modern bathroom and kitchen. Parking is in the driveway. Tea and coffee are available in the kitchen and visitors may use the sitting room. Wifi is available. Maggie, the owner provides a breakfast of cereals, toast with jams and tea or coffee. Everything exceeded my expectations for the very reasonable price.

The host was very lovely, friendly and welcoming. And the property was so tidy and clean, it really exceeded my expectations with hiw well kept it looked.

I and my girlfriend had issues with the bathroom sink while having our bath, as the water was flowing out properly, and we found that a bit inconvenient.

Good location for us personally

Great location for us as we were visiting family nearby. House very clean. Parking very good.. You could come and go freely as you are given a key.

As you were sharing the space with the owner it wasn’t very private apart from your bedroom. Couldn’t access the WiFi despite numerous attempts. Although it had a shared kitchen the only place to eat was either outside or on the owners lovely sofa in the lounge. The TV was also in her lounge which the owner showed us, you would have shared this with her. There was no tv in the bedroom or anywhere to sit apart from the bed.

The room needs some curtains to block out the light. The sun rises and comes straight through the blinds. I had to buy an eye mask.
