Rustic Modern Retreat in Poconos

Our stay here, right after Christmas, was absolutely perfect for our family! The home was stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully laid out. It worked so well for everyone, including my mom and mother-in-law, who both have mobility challenges. The outdoor hot tub was amazing! Sitting outside in the cold while submerged in warmth was such a relaxing experience, and it felt like the perfect way to unwind after the busy holiday season. The deer were another highlight for us. We saw them in the mornings and evenings through the home’s many large windows, and the kids loved calling them “reindeer,” which tied in perfectly with the season. The house even had a Christmas tree and holiday decorations, making our stay feel extra festive and special. For families with young kids, it’s worth noting that the upstairs TV room has a couch that butts up against a short wall overlooking the living room below. To keep things safe, we’d recommend bringing a baby gate for the stairs and keeping an eye on little ones who might be tempted to climb. The back bar room with the foosball table was another great space to hang out, though it was a bit colder back there. The house itself was stocked with everything we needed—separate towels for the bath and hot tub (so soft and clean!), and fresh, cozy linens that made settling in so easy. The location was perfect—a short drive to the mountains for skiing, Jim Thorpe for exploring, and a nearby state park where we celebrated my mom’s birthday with a short hike to a gorgeous waterfall.

While we truly enjoyed our stay, a couple of small things could be improved. Some of the doors came off the hinges fairly easily, which was a minor annoyance. Additionally, the bar room, while fun, was a bit colder than the rest of the house. Neither issue detracted from our experience, but they’re worth noting. Overall, this was an incredible stay for our family, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway filled with thoughtful details, natural beauty, and holiday cheer.
