La Bonne Chauffe - La Longère

Location is remote in the french countryside. Very quiet, very dark at night. The house a a classic french farmhouse, modernly remodeled. Very well equipped kitchen and appliances, comfortable couches. Kids got Netflix to work on the tv, dad got parental controls to work. Wifi is strong, but does not reach all bedrooms. The pool is large, and 1m60 deep. We rented both halves of the house for a total of 6 bedrooms and three bathrooms which was perfect for our group of eleven. Fans were provided for the bedrooms, which allowed us to sleep well. Temperature was no higher than 28 degrees. Most activities like canoes, tree-climbing, cities, shops, are a 20-45 minute drive from the house. Our host was very responsive and welcoming. She provided us with a bottle of pineau from a local producer, who we later visited and gave us a lovely tour of the facilities and cognac/pineau tasting. All in all a very pleasant vacation. Would very much recommend.

I'd like to say I am going into the details here, cause we had an excellent stay and this is one of the better accommodations we have booked in many years. I would make three small suggestions: 1. A slightly less hard mattress in the master bedroom. 2. Screens on the windows of the bedrooms to keep mosquitoes out. 3. Add smoke detectors in all rooms.
