Petit Moulin De Veillard

The location was idyllic...located in the Gite conversions of an old water mill. The standard of cleanliness was outstanding. Fully equipped kitchen, along with a welcome ice cold bottle of local Rose & a big bottle of water! The chairs in the mill race outflow, under the midstream fountain were gorgeous! What a place to cool off! Host Adam was knowledgeable, responsive, helpful in everyway... recommendations for Boulangerie, restaurants, transport swimming spots... everything. We were there for a family wedding at the Priory in Bourg-charente just 5 mins down the road...it was ideal. Cognac is a ten minute drive ( well, Chateau Bernard, where the supermarkets & shopping centres are) cognac centre is another 5 minutes. Lovely walks down the river are on your doorstep, and there is the Daddy of all barbeques ( all singing and dancing, whistles and bells gas powered beast!) available for your use. There's a Michelin starred restaurant and brasserie in Bourg Charente, along with a down to earth cafe/bar/post office/ shop!

The only downside was the absence of any bar, cafe, shop of any kind in Viellard, although the local Marie is in the process of refurbishing the old Boulangerie, with a hope to encourage someone to take it on.

Accessibility clean it had charm and was idyllic and the weather was perfect

Adam est un hôte fantastique ! Logement magnifique, bien équipé, avec des lits confortables. Je me suis sentie en sécurité avec la guérite à l'entrée du moulin.

Bel endroit, literie au top, rien ne manque, Adam très accueillant
