Fab staff, grounds and pool - we had a great time!

This hotel was kind of in a remote area outside of town but we were pleasantly surprised at all the amenities. After a 3 hour drive through the mountains, we were exhausted and so happy there was a restaurant on site. The pool area was great. The room was pretty rustic, but ok. The unfortunate part was that is is Cicada season and the noise was deafening. The pool had hundreds of dead cicadas but the pool guy was trying his best to keep up with cleaning it out. Staff was all super friendly and helpful.

Hotel las Orquideas is a great option for a very reasonably priced stay in fantastic green surroundings. There are various pools, including pristine hot pools (much bigger than mere tubs). All the staff were very approachable, flexible and proactive in their approach to customer service. The restaurant bar offer excellent food, cocktails and value.

Very small and simple room, nowhere to put your stuff. There was only one very bright light in the room, I asked for the bedside table lamp and never received it. Shower was okay, room clean enough, staff could have been more helpful. The restaurant was not bad, breakfast was nice. Only one hot tub was actually hot. The grounds are beautiful with the lush garden/jungle like surrounding, that was probably the best part about it. I would probably not go back there again.
