Ocean View Guest House

Had the best time ! This place is Perfect, Stayed two weeks. The owner and the family are the most nicest, helpful and Honest people. They go above and beyond to make the best stay. Perfect location, and they have a restaurant with amazing delicious food. Highly recommend, will come back.

Such a friendly family running the hostel, their food is delicious and they really make you feel at home. Very comfy bed in the dorm, nice amount of space. The other guests were friendly, it felt very peaceful with a nice upstairs common space. A little out of the main Ahangama strip but you can get there in a 5 min tuktuk or a couple stops on the bus which makes things easy and a nicer area to stay in.

The outdoor shower area is public and cannot be locked from the outside. It wasn’t an issue during my stay but something to be aware of

Es hat leider nur eine kalte outdoor Dusche, was aber nicht so schlimm war..

Booked 2 nights and stayed 5. Very good location close to main road.but far enough that I could not hear any noise sleeping. Facilities are simple but sufficient for confortable stay and always kept very clean. AC in my room.was brand new and perfect for the task. Very confortable medium-firm mattress and 2 nice pillows as well. All bed linen was very clean when i arrived. Really enjoyed my stay here not.only.for the place itself but because of the owners! Mr.Piyiantaya always keen for a laid back chat and will try to integrate you in the area as well as possible. Scooters were sold.out everywhere when I arrived but he made sure to call all his mates to get me one, take me into town for any quick errands, tell me.about local food/fruit shops and what prices to.expect, etc. The restaurant downstairs is run by his wife,Anushi, that makes some of the best local food around the area. She does everything herself and it was all honestly wonderfull. Huge portions too! Since there is the dorm.downstairs, there is a very small social scene that is very pleasant. 1 surf break right in front of the house too. Devils point.5mts scooter driving to midigama and ahangama too Cant recomend this place enough and will.definetly come back!

Nothing was really bad so these are only recomendations for the future: having a shower/ hose to clean up from the beach/surf before going to.the rooms. Also my bathroom door was missing the handle and left a small gap when closed. Maybe a surf rack at the entrance too
