The ease of it all

Spotless clean throughout, well designed spacious 3-2-2 ground floor apartment with lift from garage. Well equipped kitchen. Nice patio area with a super clean BBQ (although we didn't use it). Good water pressure. Generally excellent all round.

Bathroom fittings needing maintenance. Shower heads slipping down the riser rails. Towel rails & toilet roll holders loose on the walls. Super soft pillows that look great on arrival but don't support your head in any meaningful way. A live construction zone directly next door which wasn't advised when booking which meant we didn't use the master bedroom which is too close to the works being carried out. But the back two bedrooms were OK at this early stage of construction (Only a fairly quiet front end loader digging footings). But these were small inconveniences for what was otherwise a lovely apartment. However, my biggest gripe was with the host named "MadeComfy" who requires you to provide a selfie & photo ID (such as a driver's licence), which is standard practice in face to face check-ins but having used booking.com on numerous occasions over several years I've never previously been requested to do it online. I reckon that all other hosts I've dealt with on booking.com recognise that you logon to book which is sufficient ID. As such, I made the mistake of not reading the fine print in detail, made the booking and paid for the 5 nights accommodation. Bearing in mind that apart from a photo & birth date it also provides a signature online, which I consider a serious security risk. I advised "MadeComfy" within two hours of their request for ID online to cancel the booking due to my security concerns, they very politely told me to reconsider as I would lose my deposit (a little under $1000.00). As a retiree, I can't afford this kind of loss, so I eventually relented and very reluctantly provided the ID details they requested. As a consequence, we stayed at the property after advising "MadeComfy" that I would provide an honest review which would reflect my opinion of them.
