Kamili Villas, Bwejuu, Zanzibar

Really enjoyed our stay at Kamili Villas. The villa was spot on — really spacious, clean and comfortable, with great furniture and everything you need. The bed was probably the most comfortable I’ve slept in away from home! Loved having our own pool and the peace and quiet. Great place to relax and explore Zanzibar from. Would definitely stay again.

The villa was beautiful, peaceful, and immaculately clean, with spacious and very comfortable rooms. Breakfasts were delicious and freshly prepared, and the location in Bwejuu was quiet and relaxing. Nicole and her team were outstanding and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay.

The only small downside was the road leading to the villa, which could be improved, though this is completely outside the property’s control. Once you arrive, it has no impact on the overall experience.

The location is horrible. It’s about a 20 minute walk on a dusty, unlit road until you reach a main road. By car it takes a bumpy 10 min from the nearest recommended restaurant to the villa. It is a self catering villa so there is no food provided at all. We had a problem with pests on the first night and were told by the owners via Whatsap (because they were not in the country) that they do not use pesticides. So we were stuck with an ant infestation, roaches, spiders, beetles and geckos and had to fumigate ourselves with a local pesticide spray that was given to us. We used it and were not able to use the villa for about 6 hours at night because the fumes were too strong. The owners were not accommodating on that night and we were inconvenienced but after that we were able to enjoy the villa.
