The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Budapest, in a great neighbourhood with every major tourist attraction within walking distance. Supermarkets and excellent restaurants are just steps away, and there's a metro station nearby too, though you'll barely need it given how walkable everything is. A fantastic base for exploring the city. Matteo was a friendly and flexible host. He allowed us to drop off our luggage before check-in as we arrived on an early morning flight, which was a really appreciated gesture. I paid for 5 nights but only stayed 4, as I needed a late checkout due to an evening flight. The apartment is on the third floor with no elevator, which is clearly stated in the listing. Personally I didn't mind it at all — I actually enjoyed the stairs! Not sure what the fuss is about in some of the other reviews.

Overall a decent stay in a fantastic location, but a few things worth knowing before booking. The apartment shares a corridor with another room, which may not be clearly stated in the listing. It wasn't a major issue as the other guests were quiet, but if privacy matters to you, it's something to be aware of. I'd suggest the host makes this more visible in the description. The pillowcases were fresh and clean, but the pillows themselves had an unpleasant odor that affected my sleep. I requested replacements but unfortunately none were available. This would be an easy fix for the host to address. A few areas of the apartment could also benefit from more thorough cleaning — the carpets, shower head, and decorative cushion covers in particular. The iron listed as an amenity was located in the shared corridor and was rusty, leaving stains on my clothes, so I stopped using it. One more thing to check before booking: fresh towels come at an extra cost, which may or may not be mentioned in the listing — worth confirming in advance. Budapest itself was wonderful and I left with great memories — I just think a few of these points would help future guests have a smoother stay.

Great location, with some of the main attractions within walking distance. Supermarkets are very close by, and public transportation is also nearby. The apartment was easy to find, had a spacious bathroom, and overall offered more than enough space for two people. The only small suggestion would be to add a few more coat hangers or a closet for storage. I would definitely book again if I visit Budapest in the future.

The Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable during our stay, and the TV was not available. However, I reported this to Matteo, who promptly contacted the telecommunications company, so I believe these issues have likely been resolved by now.

The apartment is in a very good location, just a few minutes’ walk from the M1 metro line and several tram stops. The bed is very comfortable, the apartment has an original style, and the window allows good air circulation.

Unfortunately, there were some important issues. The apartment is on the third floor and the elevator was not working. We are two young girls and we were travelling with very large and heavy suitcases because we’re in Budapest for a four-month Erasmus stay. Despite we asked it in advance and the house rule no. 17 stating that a contact person from the agency can be present upon request, no assistance was provided at departure, as we were told that this service was not available on Sundays. No empathy and availability at all. In addition, some basic amenities were missing or insufficient: the hairdryer was not available (we found only an empty box, so we had to buy it), there was no paper towel, and the amount of toilet paper and dish soap was not enough for a 8 days stay.
