This is a private residence, so you're really sharing the space with the hosts in the truest sense. The house is very lived in and has character. Lots of clown decorations though. The hosts were very accomodating. My room didn't have black out curtains so it got bright very early, so they immediately switched me to another room. There were no other guests so I basically had the whole floor to myself. The location of the house is pretty good for seeing the lavender and flower fields in Biei/Furano (half hour-ish), and the drive to Soundkyo and Asahidake took longer but was alright too.

The house is a bit tucked away from the road. You have to cross a little bridge and then drive down a small private road a bit. The kitchen area is pretty sparce so prepare to live off of convenience store food. Also, no washing maschine. The room with the two windows has a prettier view, but might get hotter in the summer time.

Friendly couple albeit that they didn’t speak English and I didn’t speak Japanese but we got by with Google Translate. Transfer to airport at a cost of JPY 2,000 was convenient so thanks .

Map with directions would have been helpful at night when I arrived , as Google maps takes you along side the property which misses the road required to enter house . I had to go off piste in deep snow with 110ltr bag plus ski bag which was a nightmare.
