Honky Tonk Colonial

A perfect spot to stay for a solo traveler who wants easy access to all the sights in the Zona Colonial. Minutes from the Fortaleza, Calle el Conde, Parque Colón, and many other attractions as well as restaurants. Highly secure, 24/7 reception. Couldn't ask for a better hotel.

Great value for money. I had stayed in another Zona Colonial hotel for more than double the price—sure that was colonial and charming and old world—but Honky Tonk offered clean, modern and spacious rooms at such a better price. Even the breakfast here was notably good and fresh. Staff were friendly. WiFi worked well in public spaces and in the room. Tv was smart and new. Bathroom clean and spacious. Location by the park was absolutely charming—true local living without the touts on Colon and Conde. It’s mostly no frills but for the price point—a solid winner I’d recommend.

Bien ubicado, cómodo, seguro, atentos

Unfortunately, I did not receive the room I had booked. When I arrived, I was told that my original room was already occupied, so I was given a different room instead. The replacement room was directly next to the reception and had almost no natural light, with only a very small window. The biggest issue was the noise: I could clearly hear the reception doorbell from my bed whenever guests arrived and needed someone to open the entrance, including at times when I was trying to rest or sleep. I understand that unexpected situations can happen, but receiving a noticeably less comfortable room than the one I booked, particularly without this being communicated beforehand, was disappointing. For these reasons, the stay unfortunately did not meet my expectations.
