About this house rental

Escape to this charming 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom attached country home, set in the heart of the picturesque Ovens Valley. Nestled on 2.5 acres of stunning park-like gardens, it offers the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience, just a short 12-minute drive to Bright and 17 minutes to Myrtleford.

Step outside and immerse yourself in the beauty of mature gardens, where you can take a leisurely stroll, enjoy seasonal fruit from the orchard, or simply take in the breathtaking views of Mt. Buffalo and the surrounding farmlands. For outdoor enthusiasts, the famous rail-trail is right across the road, and the Ovens River, ideal for a refreshing swim, is just a short walk away. The surrounding pine plantations offer peaceful trails for a serene walk in nature.

This idyllic retreat is a nature lover's paradise, with a wide variety of trees, bushes, and flowers to admire. The property's orchard is home to apples, cherries, nashi pears, peaches, nectarines, lemons, oranges, limes, persimmons, and feijoa trees. Guests are welcome to enjoy any ripe fruits during their stay—just remember, availability depends on the season!

Inside, the house boasts an open-plan design with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge area, and dining space. On cozy nights, unwind by the fireplace in the sunken lounge, or catch up on your favorite shows on the smart TV, complete with Netflix. The kitchen features all the appliances and utensils you'll need, including a dishwasher and large fridge.

The spacious, stylish bedrooms each come with a private ensuite. The main ensuite features a luxurious full-length bath, perfect for a relaxing soak. Both bedrooms are equipped with queen-sized beds, comfy mattresses, cozy blankets, and ample closet space for your belongings. The large windows are fitted with sheer curtains for daylight and block-out curtains for privacy and a restful night's sleep.

For those driving, there are two parking spaces available on the property. If you need additional parking, please let us know when booking.

With stunning views of Mt. Buffalo, local farms, and the valley, this home offers a true country experience. Neighboring Alpine Angus farm means you may even spot cows grazing in the nearby paddocks. Plus, two wineries—Feathertop and Ringer Reef—are within walking distance, so you can easily enjoy the local wine scene.

This property strikes the perfect balance between peaceful seclusion and easy access to nearby attractions, offering a serene getaway close to the action.

Guest Access:
Enjoy your own private entry to the house, with a key provided in a secure lockbox upon arrival. The property is 2.5 acres, with full access to both the front and back areas, though the back portion is shared. Relax in the outdoor seating area at the front and take in the serene surroundings.

Other Things to Note:

Well-behaved, house-trained dogs are welcome but must be kept off furniture and bedding. Please bring your own dog bed and bowls. The front area is not fully enclosed, so keep your dog supervised. An additional cleaning fee of $75 (or more for professional cleaning) will apply if there is any damage.
Our two friendly resident dogs will be kept securely in the back area of the property.
We source our water from a natural bore, filtered through rock and a filtration system, so it may taste different but is chemical-free.
As we're on a septic tank, please avoid flushing harsh chemicals or bleaches down the drains or toilets.
Come and experience the tranquility of this beautiful country escape while being close to all the Ovens Valley has to offer.

Set in a lovely garden along the Great Alpine Way, just across the road from the rail trail between Bright and Myrtleford, this property is well positioned for bike riding and visiting Mt Buffalo. The beds very comfortable with nice linen. The ensuite bathrooms. especially the master, nicely appointed. Be aware there is no central heating. There is a wood log fire in the lounge, but it does take a bit of time to get the place warmed up. There are electric blankets on the beds and we were very comfortable at night. There is some road noise early in the morning. The kitchen is adequate but could have used a few more utensils and plates to service the 4 of us.Overall a good stay with friends.

Enjoyed our stay. Good location. Great for the rail trail. The online listing should be amended as there is no rear access.

Property was clean but could use a deep clean - shower heads, cupboard doors etc. Dishwasher was broken so unable to use this for the duration of our stay. Beds were comfortable as was the indoor seating but TV access was almost non existent. Heating is via two small fan heaters, though there is a fire but it was not set for use. This property is located in the middle of two family occupied properties and as it adjoins both there was quite a bit of banging and bumping to be heard. Sadly, the online photos do not provide a full picture of the property and the only outside space is out the front and whilst the garden is pretty it looks out in to the Great Alpine Road which is very noisy with traffic. The back garden is not for guest use. The property is not set up well for paying guests - they seem to be an afterthought in some respects. A book of information and ‘how to’ advice would have been handy including rubbish collection as we had to leave it all inside when leaving. The property is handy to Bright, Myrtleford and Beechworth etc. Please also note that this property has no laundry facilities.
