Ajit Guesthouse & 戀也2026

So this is a type of “guest house hotel” that is something like a converted apartment that, in this case, is separated into 8 guest rooms. This building has many of these “hotels” within its 15 floors, among regular apartments and, on the lower floors, businesses. If you are an experienced solo traveler, and not a fussy one, you will love this place, like I did. -The host (woman) was always around, but not overbearing. So the place felt secure. (She does not speak English) -Each room has a bed, an air conditioner and a small ‘wet bathroom’ (or at least mine did). Not much more than that, but when you’re touring around a city like HK, what more do you need? -Location is absolutely amazing for a first time in a HK. metro is right outside the door, which takes you across to HK island in one stop and in the other direction, most/all the tourist neighborhoods of Kowloon. 5 minute walk to ferry terminal. Adjacent to the incredibly hip K11 mall. Adjacent to a nightlife neighborhood. 5 minute walk to Kowloon Park. I mean, it’s bonkers how good the location is. -Laundry machine seemingly available for use. I used it. It’s one of those wash/dry in the same machine.

-Since this is on the 12 floor, you’ll appreciate the elevator and at popular times (all during the business day) there is a line on the 1st floor to go up. And it’s slow. On a positive note, ceilings are low in this building and a trudge up the stairs is relatively painless if you’re in good shape. -The mattress is hard. -Difficult to find this place the first time you arrive (hint: it’s in a corner not far from the main elevator) -No fridge in the room, but there is a fridge in the hallway that I assume is a shared fridge (I kept a few things in there at times). -I couldn’t picture staying here as more than a solo guest, but you know yourselves :)

The host was very welcoming. The room was neat. Great location. Good value for money.
