    Overall (2/5): The hotel is adequate for a short business trip, particularly thanks to the comfortable bedding and daily housekeeping. However, repeated issues with guest communication—including the handling of late-night arrivals, the lack of a functional guest waiting area, and multiple unexplained payment attempts made by the hotel before check-out—significantly impacted the overall experience and left a negative impression. Detail reviews are below: Location (3/5): The hotel is not particularly close to the city center. However, an SBB train station is located about a five-minute walk away, providing convenient direct connections to nearby destinations and making transportation relatively easy. And there is a good park nearby. Room (3/5): The room was on the smaller side, comparable to a typical small business hotel in Japan. However, for a solo business traveler around 170 cm tall, it was still practical and sufficient. The bedding was excellent—warm, comfortable, and conducive to a good night's sleep. One drawback was the absence of a refrigerator. Given the room layout, it seemed that a small refrigerator could easily be accommodated, and adding one would improve convenience for longer stays and business travelers. Housekeeping (4/5): One positive aspect was the housekeeping service. In Geneva, it is not uncommon for some accommodations to provide room cleaning only once per week. Here, the room was cleaned daily, which was appreciated and helped maintain a comfortable stay. Service (0/5): Unfortunately, the service experience was inconsistent. First, the hotel advertises 24-hour check-in. However, when I arrived at around 11:00 PM, there was no staff member at the reception desk. I spent approximately 30 minutes waiting outside before I was eventually able to check in. While I understand that smaller hotels may have limited staffing, this experience did not align with the expectation created by a "24-hour check-in" policy. Second, there appeared to be no suitable space for guests to wait, relax, or eat outside their rooms. While waiting for my room to be cleaned, I wanted to eat some takeaway food I had purchased. I was informed that outside food was not allowed in the hotel restaurant and that I should eat it in my room instead. However, my room was still unavailable at that time. Despite explaining the situation, no alternative lounge, common area, or waiting space was suggested. From a guest perspective, this felt like a missed opportunity. The hotel operates a restaurant and café, yet hotel guests seem unable to make practical use of these spaces when they need them most. In a small hotel, guest comfort should arguably be a priority, especially during arrival and waiting periods. It is difficult to imagine that many non-hotel visitors specifically choose a small hotel café or restaurant over the many alternatives available in the city. Allowing greater flexibility for hotel guests would likely improve both customer satisfaction and the overall guest experience. Finally, in the early hours of my check-out day, I received multiple declined transaction alerts from my banking app showing several payment attempts made by the hotel for different amounts. At the time, I had received no prior notification, invoice, or explanation from the hotel regarding these charges. Only after I contacted the hotel was I informed that the attempts were related to the Geneva city tax and that their system was trying to secure payment for the outstanding balance. While I understand the purpose of the charge, receiving multiple payment attempt notifications on my phone without any advance communication was both confusing and uncomfortable. A simple explanation before such payment attempts would have avoided unnecessary concern and provided a much better guest experience.
