Sahara Sands Unit 10

Location was great. Views were great. Property was good would be better with aircon.

Located at Kings Beach, approx 250m from the sand and a couple of hundred metres from the Kings Beach Tavern. It is an easy drive to Caloundra and the rest of the coast. Very spacious. Full size fridge and well equipped kitchen, although no non-stick frypan which in 2026 could have been helpful. Washing Machine and Dryer were well utilised. The view from the balcony was pretty awesome.

If you are not very fit or advanced in years, this place is not for you. It is on the third floor, which is actually four flights (or 8 sets of stairs) up as the garages occupy the ground floor. Even my fit visitors struggled with the ascent. The advertised rooftop terrace was not accessible and after multiple attempts I gave up. There is no wifi. The unit, for the money, felt a bit cheap. The hot water ran out constantly, grubby and cheap vertical blinds adorned the windows. Cheap beds topped of by hired linen which was dumped on the lounge on arrival for you to self make the bed after struggling for a hour to get bags up the stairs. The cushions on the bed were actually full of dust, I found this out the hard way when i picked one up half asleep in the middle of night 1. My visit was finished off by a text from the agent at the end of my visit that made me feel more like the cleaner, not the guest. The bathroom ceiling was covered in what looked like mould. The neighbours dogs were noisy, and the constant screaming from the child across the hall grated on me after a while. I get the attraction for a family, but for a solo traveller I thought is was overpriced. If I'm honest, after arriving late on night 1 and looking at the linen on the couch and the unmade bed I did consider walking out and checking into a hotel, but I was too tired. It is passable, but not a place I would choose to stay at again.
