Cape Town home from home with the perfect host

What was there not to like? Our host, Dorian is an exceptional host and is supported by a wonderful team. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable - with lovely hot showers. The breakfasts were excellent with fresh fruit, yoghurts, muesli and tasty cooked breakfasts; with orders being delivered quickly. The honesty fridge was very popular with our party of five - the selection wines were particularly good and so reasonably priced. Dorian was our personal tour guide and took us out for two days packed with his highlights of Cape Town and the surrounding area plus taking us to fabulous places to eat and drink. We will have to come back and see all the changes that Dorian wants to make and hopefully we will be able to get our whole party up Table Mountain.

Great and safe location. Double bedroom had comfortable bed and sufficient space for big luggages. Breakfast was a good spread and choices. Kurt was hospitable and friendly. Honesty bar is a great convenient if you need drinks in the middle of the night. Once rooftop is ready, will have a good view of table mountain.

A very conveniently located small hotel in a quiet area of Cape Town. Delicious breakfast was served. The staff were very friendly as was the host who was very informative.

We loved everything about this lodge. Dorian was very helpful, offering great communication before our arrival late in the evening. He gave useful advice and insights about the city and surroundings. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds were so comfy. We could enjoy delicious breakfast (those pancakes!) delivered by an always friendly and smiling staff. Close to all the interesting spots but in a calm and safe neighborhood. Highly recommended!

Superb stay, will go again

Very conveniently located close to Table Mountain, Signal Hill and in a quiet and safe area. Breakfast was very good. Comfortable beds. Dorian and his staff are lovely and very flexible.

Wifi was not always stable. We stayed in winter time and the dining and living rooms were a bit chilly.

Everything! Friendly, smart and very helpful owner (basically he organised our 3 days in CT, based on weather, our preferences, time & budget). Beautifullly build & decorated property (like a boutique hotel), newly refurbished, exceptionally clean, secure area. Delicious omelets and pancakes (the best we had!!), friendly staff.

Die Lodge ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt um die Stadt zu erkunden. Die Gegend ist sehr sicher. Das gesamte Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Dorian ist immer in der Nähe und unterstützt mit zahlreichen Tipps und Empfehlungen. Man merkt dass er dir Stadt liebt und all sein Wissen gerne teilt. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und können die Cactusberry Lodge auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

Hervorragende Location, um Cape Town zu erkunden

Die Cactusberry Lodge ist ein hervorragendes Ort, um Kapstadt zu erleben. Der Gastgeber ist sehr hilfsbereit und beantwortet gerne aufkommende Fragen und gibt Tipps. Beim Willkommensdrink erfährt man gleich die wichtigsten Dinge über die Stadt. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend und man kommt den Wünschen der Gäste nach. Auch das Lagern unserer Koffer nach dem Auschecken, um dann gepäckbefreit noch etwas vor dem Flug die Stadt zu erkunden, war überhaupt kein Problem. Eine sehr empfehlenswerte Übernachtungsmöglichkeit!

Sehr nettes Personal, das uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt hat. Der Gastgeber Dorian hat mit uns sogar noch ein paar Highlights in Kapstadt angefahren. Es stand immer ein Kühlschrank mit kühlen Getränken bereit und Wein zur Selbstbedienung. Wenn wir nochmal nach Kapstadt kommen, werden wir wieder dort einkehren. Ausgezeichnetes Frühstück und immer gute Tipps von Dorian.

Zuhause in Kapstadt mit vielen Tipps

Bei der Ankunft wurden wir sehr herzlich von Gastgeber empfangen und auch gleich mit allen möglichen Tipps für unseren Kapstadt Aufenthalt versorgt. Die Lage zwischen Zentrum und Tafelberg ist super und man kommt mit Uber (auch einer der Tipps) überall schnell hin. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und reichhaltig und auch hier ist immer noch Zeit für nette Gespräche und weitere Tipps für den Tag. Insgesamt fühlt man sich wirklich gut aufgenommen und zuhause. Unser Aufenthalt in der Cactusberry Lodge war ein sehr gelungener Abschluß unserer Südafrikareise.

Een enorme aanrader als je in Kaapstad bent!

Onze kinderen verbleven met zijn drieën in een fijne kamer op de begane grond. Wij hadden het appartement op de bovenverdieping, ruim en luxe en met een prachtig uitzicht. Dorian is een fantastische gastheer, hij heeft veel kennis van Kaapstad en omgeving en deelt die graag met zijn gasten. De wijk is veilig en relatief dichtbij het centrum. Onze huurauto konden we binnen de poort parkeren. Het ontbijt was geweldig, super goed verzorgd door erg vriendelijke dames. Dat was elke ochtend een feestje, we hebben nog nooit zo’n lekkere pannenkoeken gegeten! Ook de wijn was lekker! Dorian zorgde steeds voor een brandend hardvuurtje en daarbij smaakte de wijn éxtra goed. We kunnen Cactusberry Lodge aan iedereen aanbevelen!

Dorian ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber und bietet wunderbare Tipps für einen schönen Urlaub. Das Zimmer war geräumig (free upgrade) und sauber, einzig die Stufe ins Bad war nächtens etwas hoch. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und sehr schmackhaft und vom Personal mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Die Gegend ist tagsüber sicher und abends brachte uns Uber sicher bis zum Gartentor. Danke für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt!

Heizen mit Klimaanlage ist etwas laut, aber das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Wir wurden mit den Worten empfangen: „Das ist kein Hotel, das ist ein Zuhause! Also fühlt euch wie zu Hause!“ Und das haben wir gemacht. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und wunderschön eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist toll: Buffet und frisch zubereitete Eier oder Pfannkuchen, je nach Wunsch. Dorian ist ein sehr toller Gastgeber, der dafür sorgt, dass der Aufenthalt in Kapstadt unvergessen bleibt. Morgens beim Frühstück bespricht er mit seinen Gästen, was man je nach Wetterlage am besten machen könnte und abends erkundigt er sich, wie der Tag war. Wir möchten auf jeden Fall nochmal zurückkommen.

Wir hatten eine prima Zeit in der Cactusberry Lodge und sind nach unserer Rundreise sehr gerne hierher zurückgekehrt. Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Cactusberry Lodge, l'ambiance, les échanges avec Dorian et ses bons conseils pour les excursions, le petit déjeuner toujours servi avec un grand sourire et toujours très bon. Belle adresse.

Notre chambre au RdC était un peu étroite (mais c'était sans doute aussi l'une des moins chères). Les chambres à l'étage sont très belles.
