About this house rental
Kaye Farm Metung is on a hill top above Chinaman's Creek valley in the beautiful East Gippsland Lakes town of Metung.
It is the perfect base for a large family Metung escape.
Set on one and a half acres with sweeping country-side views and just a short walk to Chinaman's Creek and the Bancroft Bay boardwalk, the house has been designed with large family holidays in mind.
The spacious home is single level (only three internal steps separate the two wings of the house) and has been designed to provide all the comforts to make your stay enjoyable. The floor plan divides the house into two accomodation wings to suit large families, extended families, two families or small group stays.
The highlight of the property is the extensive outdoor entertaining deck. It features an eight person spa, large 4 burner BBQ (with side burner) and a unique fish cleaning table. The outdoor chairs and sun lounges are the perfect spot to enjoy the sun during the day or to star gaze at night.
The property features five bedrooms (one king bedroom, three queen bedrooms and a bunk room) and can accomodate up to 12 people. All bedrooms are spacious and feature reverse cycle heating and cooling.
The bunk room is ideal for kids with two bunk beds (queen bed at the bottom and king single at the top) and features it's own TV chill out area.
The spacious main bathroom is located in the front wing of the house and features a seperate shower and bath tub.
The master bedroom, with shower ensuite, is located at the rear of the house and opens onto a private balcony with stunning valley views.
At the heart of the house is a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area that is framed on one side by a wall of north facing windows, showering in beautiful natural light and showcasing the property's sweeping countryside views. The area features reverse cycle heating and cooling. During the cooler months, a wood burning fire provides extra warmth and creates a lovely ambiance. The large dining table, in the centre of the open plan area, comfortably seats up to 10 people.
The fully equipped entertainer's kitchen includes a dishwasher, large 900mm oven and Nespresso capsule coffee machine. The kitchen features a large stone island bench that comfortably seats six people.
The laundry is fully equipped, including a washing machine and dryer, making it convenient for longer stays.
Located only a short 5 minute drive to Metung village and the Shaving Point boat ramp, Kaye Farm Metung caters to fishing and boating enthusiasts with ample parking for cars and boats.

We stayed at this stunning modern farm house for 2 nights, from Boxing Day. Even though there were no reviews yet, we took a punt just based on the quality of the photos and the description of all its amenities. The lovely Emma was super helpful in the lead up to our stay - no ask was too much and her comms were excellent - even warning us about fire ratings in the area. When we arrived, my cousin had trouble unlatching the gate to reach the lockbox. Emma was quick to respond by phone and talked us through it, so we didn't waste much time at all in getting access to the property. The house was even more beautiful in person - very clean, with dishwasher, iron, microwave, BBQ etc holiday essentials and ready-to-use outdoor spa bath (seriously nothing to prep, just jump in during day time to catch the amazing views of rolling hills and the cute alpaca next door).Kitchen was state-of-the-art with a well stocked pantry. The fridge had fresh milk plus a few bonus items in the freezer, including ice packs for the Esky. Beds were comfy, with split systems in all rooms and living areas. Our two big families could occupy the two ends of the farm, maintain our privacy and meet in the middle for dining and entertainment. Can't fault the place at all, even though it's a fairly new listing and Emma still has more improvements she has planned on her todo list. This will be our go to hire, when we return to Metung!
