abode Zanzibar

Nina was so kind to store our luggage while visiting the mainland for a safari. She even kept some medicine in the fridge. She goes above and beyond to find a solution during and after the stay. The house is also very cozy. The private swimming pool is just lovely and the washing machine is a real asset. It is located in a secure compound with very nice gardens.

On pictures looks great and what we only liked was that.

Mattrasses are horrible. I had a pain in my back all my holiday. In the smaller room the bed is just for 1 person. It is very small for 2. Cleaning was done very poorly every time they came. Hot water finishes after one bath and there is no separation glass between shower and toilet so the water goes all over the bathroom. Water gets stuck when taking shower. The living room was not comfy to watch television, pillows are too close to sit and watch and the 2 sofas are very damaged/used when you sit. It is kind of sitting in a hole. For sure not value for the money we payed. Again great on pictures, experience was very poor.

Amazing location - only 10/15 minutes from the centre of page. Very peaceful and private, great to just chill out by the pool. Nina was absolutely amazing, she sent us lots of recommendations and was the most attentive host we’ve ever had. On the first night we found the mattress to be very hard and i mentioned it to Nina and within two hours she had sourced us another mattress which was just unbelievable service, we were so grateful!

The property is lovely but could maybe do with some small refreshing touches to the finish. The outdoor furniture was a little bit dirty but I guess that’s to be expected in a tropical location to a degree and some of the sheets were a little bit marked when we arrived. Very minor but some small areas of improvement

Location was great, close to Paje town and Maalum cave. The property was spacious and modern. TV, air con and cooking facilities all worked well. We felt secure in the property and there was a back up generator that was effective when the power cut out.

Unfortunately the property wasn't very clean. We anticipated some issues due to it being a tropical location, however this is the only property we experienced breathing issues in. Just a few things that lacked attention to detail; there was no water provided, shower head was mostly unusable, curtains didn't function properly and internal sliding door didn't work.
