Hotel Ruby and Restaurant

I only stayed at Ruby Hotel for one night, but I had such a good experience that I’ll very likely stay here again when I return to Srinagar. The location is fantastic — really central and incredibly convenient for getting around the city. The hotel itself was comfortable, and the meal I had there was absolutely lovely. What really made the stay, though, was the staff. They were incredibly warm, friendly and engaging, and always happy to help. One example really sums them up. I’d been having a nightmare trying to sort out a local SIM card at the Airtel shop just down the road. I came back to the hotel and mentioned the problems I was having, and within about ten minutes the staff had arranged for someone to come over and help me. The guy they found was fantastic and got everything sorted. That kind of effort goes far beyond what you normally expect from a hotel. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and even though I was only there for one night, they made me feel genuinely welcome. Excellent location, lovely food and, most importantly, fantastic people. I’ll definitely be happy to stay here again when I’m back in Srinagar.
