Harbour Retreat

Excellent location right by the Harbour and a short walk to the Esplanade and beach, as well as easy access to the town's shops and railway station. The apartment was lovely - everything provided (except food) including local information. Very comfortable and pleasant. Some nice touches which I wasn't expecting e.g games, books for wet weather days. Plenty of places to eat out, but the apartment was stuffed to the gills with equipment for self-catering if preferred. Modern kitchen and equipment, small but modern bathroom. Two good sized bedrooms and a lovely living room space. Felt very safe and secure.

The stairs up to the Retreat are quite narrow. The Retreat is on the first floor so not too bad for general day to day, but a bit of a struggle when lugging suitcases up and down. It is on a busy thoroughfare so you needed your wits about you crossing the narrow road outside. Activity from nearby pubs was lively, but it does calm down and did not prevent a good night's sleep.

I liked the location, although a bit noisy at nights because of the pubs. Close to the beach and harbour which was lovely. Little balcony was a nice bonus.

The noise. The stairs are a bit steep, perhaps a handle by the door would help for safety… Something to hold the window to the balcony as it’s a bit scary as it might slide down .. The beds in the small room may need updating for a bit stiffer base as mattress kind of “falls in”

The apartment was exceptional home from home with lots of extras. We were made to feel very welcome. Thank you to Andrew, who responded promptly and was very helpful. Your home was a haven for us. We will be back.

We had a power outage across the streets, lasting 21 hours out of 48 as it kept going off and on. Not the fault of the owners at all. Quite noisy until early hours from people coming out of the pub- again not the fault of the owners.
