Simple, comfortable, clean, characterful place - somewhere I will return to

I loved this property. It's not posh but it's perfect - it has distinctive character. The decor is old-fashioned and quaint but in a welcoming homely way. The owner has taken time to make it pretty and comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. Great location immediately beside Lancaster train station, and only a few minute's walk from a supermarket, bars and shops. Comfy bed. Easy check in and check out. A kettle so you can make hot drinks. As a solo female I felt totally safe, happy and comfortable staying here and will stay here again whenever I travel through Lancaster.

Great value for money and a private car park which is a real bonus in a city centre. Great location and excellent facilities for the money. Kettle, fridge, and microwave. Plates and cutlery perfect for our takeaway supper!

The price and the location! Room was kitted out well - decent tiny bathroom, fridge, microwave, kettle etc, heating that could be turned down and most importantly a comfortable double bed

Great guesthouse with free parking in a brilliant location for exploring Lancaster.

Great little guesthouse in a brilliant location. Free parking was a bonus. You can park car and walk to all the sites. bars and restaurants in Lancaster. The room had bonus of a fridge and microwave also a kettle and tea. coffee and milk provided. We have family in Lancaster so will definitely use this hotel again when visiting.

Double room with toilet and shower

The location was brilliant for access to train station and shops and microwave was a nice add on.

The door key pad wasn't an issue as such for us apart from hearing other guests having problems getting in and doors banging. Also had other guests trying our door because they hadn't recieved instructions to gain entry to their rooms. The 2 cups supplied were dirty and we had to use our our. The cutlery wasn't clean and bowls were plastic. Fridge wasnt a fridge it was a very small mini medication fridge. Wouldn't have chose this place if this had been stated.

Super comfy mattress, good soundproofing in the room, virtually no noise from neighbours or passing trains. Easy access to room, good parking.

An outside smoking bench would have been nice with an ashtray.

Perfect location for walking into Lancaster.

Location and gated parking were extremely convenient, close to the city centre. Beds were very comfortable. Kettle, microwave, fridge, cutlery and crockery were provided in the room.

I was initially concerned that the trains would be noisy but they stopped at night. Earplugs were provided but not needed.

Location is great. Room was clean. Comfy beds. Safe and secure. Great private car park.

Be aware that you have two flights of stairs (30steps) to carry your luggage to your top floor room, no elevator. This is the old train station master’s house and trains go by through the night. Not an issue for us and ear plugs were available but we didn’t need them. Wifi is spotty on the top floor. A booster is needed.

Comfortable stay in Lancaster

Comfortable and clean. There was a microwave, fridge, plates and cutlery if needed. Parking is a big bonus in Lancaster, but the railway station is only a couple of minutes walk away if needed. It was an absolutely ideal base for us to visit family who live very close by. We would definitely stay again. Do be aware that there is no breakfast option, but Tuck about 2 minutes away has a lovely breakfast selection to eat in or take away.

It didn't worry us at all, but the building is right next to the railway line (earplugs were thoughtfully provided in our room facing the tracks)

Room was clean and tidy, with the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for some time. Incredibly convenient for Lancaster Railway station and a nice stroll into the city centre, with plenty of bars and restaurants.

I was only there for one night, which was perfect for my needs.

I liked the key safe on the door to my room, which meant I didn’t have to take the key with me when I went out. I liked there was a fridge, so that I could chill my food and drink. I liked the location of the guest house, so close to the station, Castle, shopping, and museum. I liked the communication, giving me up-to-date information, and being accommodating with storing my suitcase before check-in (and if needed, after checkout).

I struggled trying to get in the main door, as although instructions were given, I couldn’t quite figure out how to open it, until I was shown by another guest. With quite high windows, I had difficulty drawing and opening the curtains.

Wonderful

This guest house was much better than a 3 star hotel my room was very large with an en suite shower and toilet with a wash basin in the bed room it had a mini fridge, microwave, tea and coffee, glasses and cutlery and crockery so very self contained. the room was spotless and the bed very comfortable David text me to ask if everthing was ok. so nothing was too much for him. thank you will book again when I am next in Lancaster

Great location in historic city.

Excellent central location, very close to train station and castle, short walk to central shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Easy to find, large gated car park at rear. Key pad entry enables check-in and check-out with minimal fuss. Double room has double bed, 2 chairs, table, tv, fridge, microwave, worktop, kettle, mugs, cutlery, plates, bowls, en-suite shower/WC. Linen, towels, soap and shower gel provided, plus disposable ear plugs for anyone bothered by the trains (I wasn't).

Enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Excellent location, super clean. Very easy to access and really appreciated the parking. Good facilities and nicely decorated. Almost a boutique hotel at lower end prices.

The bathroom light came on automatically, not nice in the middle of the night. Also the toilet seat shifts.

Basic, served a purpose as it was close to the station

Tuck shop nearby did excellent coffee, pastries and breakfast baps plus it is open at 8am not 10am.

The twin beds were very very creaky and the mattresses really really soft and uncomfortable. The oscillating fan, although appreciated, was also very noisy. Also the wi-fi signal kept dropping.

Excellent for the price.

Loved the location. Very close to station minutes from city centre. Quite nice to have the keypad access and not to have to worry about disturbing hosts. Loved watching the trains...didn't find them disturbing at night. Loved having a fridge and a kettle in the room. Along with washing up kit. Great little en suite with hot water.

Although the beds were sufficiently comfortable, thanks to a thick mattress topper, the mattresses themselves were of poor quality and went "sproinggg" a lot. Duvet covers di d not match in a twin room. Poor finish to the attic conversion. Attic rooms really could do with a better method of cooling for heatwaves (blinds might help!)but the little fan was appreciated.

Excellent location. Compact clean, comfortable room with everything that you could need including refrigerator and microwave.

Very low beam at the top of the stairs - could padding be added to prevent injury? It would be nice to have a "Welcome Sheet" in the room giving internet password and details of who to contact in case of an emergency. Some noise from railway which was expected and not really a problem.
