Pramod Lands End Resort, a Member of Radisson Individuals

A decent hotel but not equipped for foreign visitors. No money exchange and a good distance from rail and town. Immediate roads not walkable due to garbage, honking vehicles and wild dogs. Staff attentive and do try to help. The dunes and beach are a great respite from incessant traffic noise and pollution. Gardens and pools in the complex quite lovely.

My senior-citizen parents, aged 68 and 66, were staying at this resort. They were on a mega road trip across India. After about a week into the trip, I wanted them to relax in a nice hotel, so I booked a room at Pramod Lands End after seeing all the gleaming 5 Star reviews. But the staff and management there made me regret booking there. Issues began with check-in when the front desk staff couldn’t even speak properly and had communication issues with my parents. Despite knowing that they’re senior citizens, they allotted them a room on the first floor and in a block of buildings far away from the main entrance. Fun Fact: Such a big 5-star resort does not have an Elevator. So, after a long day of travelling, they are made to walk a long way to reach their room. They unpack their luggage, freshen up, wind down for the day and decide to order food via room service. But then, surprise, the phone is not working. How do they even call the reception to complain? They cannot walk back either because it is also quite far away. Then they find the number online and call the front desk, and they send some bellboy to attend to the issue, and he isn’t able to solve it. Then after a lot of drama and firing at the staff, they apologetically sent some staff and request them to change the room to another room on another block on the ground floor. My parents were so dead tired that they did not have the energy to repack all their luggage and move to another room. They decided to adjust for one night and just move on. Big mistake, because at 11 PM the AC stopped working. Then they had to call the front desk again; I do not remember if the landline was working by then or not. After that is resolved, their entire mood is spoiled, and they try to sleep. After a while, they are woken up again; this time it is Mosquitoes troubling them, in a supposedly Radisson-affiliated property. How often has that happened to you? It has never happened to us in the multiple Radisson properties we have stayed in. At 3 AM, my dad had to call the front office and request a Mosquito bat (Pic Attached) so that they could kill the mosquitoes and sleep peacefully. After a not-so-peaceful night, they were greeted with a lovely buffet breakfast, which they really loved and was the only saving grace in this entire Fiasco. But they were really appalled by the response by the management, despite asking to connect them to the senior management, the junior staff were sent to resolve issues which they simply could not and my parents had to waste their energy to try to contact the higher ups multiple times, which was just so disappointing after paying nearly Rs.7,000 and getting a service equal to a lodge near a bus stand. The car charger issue was another episode where the staff were proven incompetent. Suggestions to staff and Management from my parents who stayed there 1. Teach some basic empathy to the staff to consider requests from senior citizens during their stay. 2. The AC remote in the room was hanging precariously from a wire and was in an unsafe condition; please look into the same. 3. Install an Elevator in such a big property, so that senior citizens won’t have to walk up flights of stairs multiple times. 4. The car charger area should be well lit and kept clean. It is currently in a dark corner and full of mosquitoes. 5. If a Charger issue is known, please clearly mark the same. 6. Basic checks like Phone working condition need to be checked before allotting a room in a far corner of the property. Overall, a Terrible stay and would not recommend this place to anyone expecting a 5-star stay.
