Stefanova Zakopane Aparthotel & Spa

I couldn’t be happier with my stay at Stefanova’s lovely family business. I can’t speak highly enough of the rooms, staff, location and food. The hotel is genuinely beautiful inside and out, light and modern and everything has been thought through in detail, down to the beautiful flowers on the breakfast tables. The team works tirelessly and it really shows. The breakfast and lunchbox were exceptional. The location is fantastic for hiking and being close to the train and bus station makes getting around very easy. At the same time, the hotel feels like a peaceful oasis away from the shops and restaurants. The spa was also fantastic - clean, rather extensive, easy to access and exactly what you need after a long day outside. I also want to give a special mention to the staff. When there was an issue with my room upon arrival, the young woman at reception immediately understood the problem and handled it with such kindness and professionalism. She resolved everything quickly and on par with international standards and made the rest of my five-night stay delightful. I was genuinely sad to hear that some previous guests had been unkind to the staff, particularly given the language barrier. I also really enjoyed the privacy of the room. Not having housekeeping coming around in the morning made the whole experience feel more private and relaxed. One thing I particularly noticed during my stay was how demanding some guests could be towards the staff, especially the lady working at breakfast. At times I found the way she was spoken to quite uncomfortable to watch. Of course, as paying guests we should expect good service, but basic respect should go both ways, particularly when there is a language barrier. The kindness and patience of the staff deserve to be recognised. Keep up the lovely work!

I did find myself agreeing with some of the points mentioned in previous reviews, although these are all relatively minor points for me: The Japanese-style Grohe toilet is clearly a lovely, high-quality feature, although I never quite figured out how to make it work. The shower pressure was also a little disappointing. A vanity kit and some tissues available on request would also have been a nice touch. I also agree with previous comments that the jacuzzi could have been a little warmer on some occasions. I found the pillow arrangement slightly limiting. When travelling alone, you receive one pillow and as it was quite thin, I would have appreciated a second thicker one ready, particularly for relaxing or watching a film in bed. I also missed having a reading light by the bed after sunset. Similarly, only receiving one room key was occasionally inconvenient. I understand the reasoning behind this from an energy-saving perspective, but having a second key available on request would be a simple improvement for guests who need to keep several devices charging in preparation for hiking. Noise can depend on your neighbours. On one night, I could hear conversations quite clearly from another room and a particularly loud family kept me awake until around 1am. With a 5am wake-up for hiking the following morning, this was difficult, although every other night was blissfully quiet. Despite these small imperfections, I had a wonderful five-night stay. The beautiful hotel, excellent food, fantastic location, wonderful spa and thoughtful details left me feeling relaxed and very well looked after. The kindness of the staff in particular made it a very positive experience and I will leave with very fond memories of Polish hospitality. I would be genuinely excited to return.

An attractive new property; rooms are well finished and appointed, comfortable in size. The spa facilities were large, well maintained and even luxurious (only negative -- the jacuzzi was not warm enough). The location is close to the train station, short walk, and the central shopping core of the town a 10 minute walk away. The neighboring restaurant (operated by another group), Bubuja, is good, friendly staff, recommended.

The offered breakfast was expensive; suggest a simpler continental offering. There is a coffee machine in the basement level. And, the sound-proofing could be better -- could hear neighbors when they were speaking.
