Just Like Home - Casa do Cadinho

Aged, dark brown wood, willingly carries a soft, pink colored beauty; emboddied with little white-grey bubbles. It's beauty moves me. The colors complement so well... what a story a shampoo -block can tell..., It all happened while taking a shower in our holiday home 'Casa do Cadinho' in the beautiful Minho region. For sure, it's the beauty of this place that moves me. The old stones of the house, the lived stairs leading up to the entrance, as also the walls that enclose the garden, in which the fragrant roses frame the door, make you feel as if you are walking into history... As soon as you walk into the house, the interior surrounds you with a warmth that absorbs and comforts you as if you were at home. The clock on the wall tells us to enjoy, cosiness knows no time, a Dutch saying that applies in a place where not only the clock but also time seems to stand still. All facillities are present, from a fine kitchen, where mum's kitchen machines and a modern dishwasher do not compete, but are allowed to coexist. Dad's gin located in the room to wait fort the right time, just like home... The night is quiet, and cool, the stones generously return their safed coldness. The beautiful aged wooden shutters, complementary to the stone walls make this a comfortable and salutary place  to recharge and unwind. Today as in the old days. Everything has been thought of. Tis place invite you to slow down. Chilling in the hammock underneath the veranda, a pleasant spot to enjoy the most delicious,sweet deep-red cherries. A perfect place to watch a little visitor, a  cute little brown striped bird, with a funny little tale. He is so quick and not at all shy. He comes and goes, shows up and disapears in the wooden beems that carry the veranda roof. Hello nature life! The sofa inside invites us and enclose, warm and cosy. With his feet and toes stretched out towards the sun our little companion is relaxing with us next to the swimmingpool.

A casa tem muito charme e está decorada com bom gosto. O alpendre é um espaço maravilhoso, tanto para tomar o pequeno-almoço e fazer as restantes refeições, como para dormir uma sesta na rede ou jogar cartas em familia. O jardim é muito simpático e os terrenos vizinhos bonitos permitindo usufruir da calma do local. A cozinha está muito bem equipada o que torna a estadia muito confortável.

Apenas o valor cobrado pelo animal de estimação foi um bocado alto.

Heerlijk en prachtig “echt” huis, van alle gemakken voorzien. We hebben genoten!

Het was echt heerlijk. De bedden waren erg hard, maar we hebben het heerlijk gehad.
