About this villa rental

Our delightful 4-bedroom mill house (new Heating AC - 2016) consists on the ground floor of a large living room with fireplace, farmhouse kitchen, dining room, bathroom. The first floor has 2 double bedrooms, the master bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other a king-size double, and stacks two twin beds in the third bedroom to accommodate 2 more people and bunk beds in the fourth bedroom. All rooms have original beams. There is both a covered terrace at the front overlooking the 10 x 5 new pool (March 2016) and ‘beach’ and the terrace at the back, with a gazebo, which runs the full length of the house and offers 360-degree panoramic views. The property sits on a large, fully fenced 5000 m² plot with olive, almond and citrus trees with a private double-gated entrance. Pets are welcome free of charge. Reversible air conditioning (2016). NEW SWIMMING POOL (March 2016). Parking and carport

We stayed from 27th July to 11th August. The villa itself is beautiful and spacious. It's thick stone walls mean that it is cool enough in the day to not require the a/c, but it being in all rooms is a bonus at night time during the hot summer. The pool is a good size and a great temperature.The location is lovely and peaceful, however it is a little remote and a car is essential, especially as the Tapas bar and shop within walking distance no longer appear to be open (the shop is apparently open on a Friday morning for meat and sausages only).Despite it's remote location, there are a number of beaches and places to visit no more than a 30 minute drive away. Would recommend the Sorbas Caves and Oasys Mini Hollywood, especially for those with children. There is also a lovely restaurant in La Mela which is about a 10 minute drive away.My review of our stay would have been 5 star, however I have lowered it as there is a big problem with wasps here. Having read the previous review we did try and come prepared with dummy wasp nests that I purchased, having seen that these deter wasps, this was however to no avail as there were far too many around the villa. Whilst the wasps on the whole were non aggressive, they were a real nuisance, and made it impossible to have a relaxing meal outside, which would have been amazing as the views from the veranda area are beautiful. The wasps were also very active around the pool area, although this was manageable.
