Belfry Cottage

The location was great - pub each endof the road :). Nice and quiet. The property is beautifully decorated. It is spacious with great outside space. The kitchen is beautiful. It has a beautiful quirkyness about it. All bedding was clean, the shower was amazing!!!!.

Just a suggestion but maybe some tea and coffe (just a little) would be a nice personal touch. If arriving late (as we did) it would have been fab as the local shop was shut. The property is perfect for families (bunk beds, space, full kitchen) but there is quite a drop from the patio in the garden so you would have to watch little ones. the place was just perfect though and we loved it.

The only thing we didn't like was there were no blinds in the bathroom, otherwise it was perfect

Cleanliness and space

It was a Saturday and the pub nearby was having a party so a bit of noise but the party ended around 11pm so it wasn’t too bad

Location was fine - parking further away but that's to be expected in an old village. The place was very clean - couldn't fault that. It was right in the centre of the village which was very good and a lovely place to walk around.

I've never stayed in a place where they didn't at least leave you tea and coffee - there was absolutely nothing at all. Given we arrived late Saturday night, we were lucky the village store was open Sunday morning. I would have brought my own if I'd known but we were only staying one night so it didn't occur to me I might need it. Soap provided, and a "cleaning care box" so you can clean up the kitchen! The house is perfectly done up - but oh SOOOO bland! We usually look for the quirky but this was for a wedding so location was key. Does everything have to be beige?? It is so cold to look at. Customer services was appalling. No answer to messages online, no answer to their specific text number until it was too late. The check in time is 4pm and check out is 10am - which seems late for check in and early for departure. Usually it would be at least an hour extra on each day. For the price for 1 night - £526 - definitely not worth it. Can't believe it takes 6 hours to clean that small immaculate cottage, but the sign also asks you to strip your own beds and put in the bag provided. Beds were ok, sheets good quality and clean, as were the towels. Cheap pillows. We asked if we could leave our bags and possibly get changed for a wedding at 12 but had no response all week or on the day. When I did get a response the day after, it was an AI bot and useless. For the price you pay I would expect better customer care. I definitely wouldn't use Sykes or Booking.com to book a holiday home again - only hotel rooms where I can call the hotel.
