Holly House La Fortuna

Die Unterkunft war einfach klasse. Die Lage direkt am Waldrand war perfekt. Wir konnten Frösche, Vögel und sogar beeindruckende Leguane in der Natur beobachten. Der Pool war wirklich fantastisch. Er hatte eine perfekte Temperatur und das Baden bei Nacht war ein echtes Highlight. Besonders beeindruckend war, dass die Frösche dabei ganz nah kamen, was das Erlebnis noch besonderer gemacht hat. Die Ausstattung war top und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Alles war sehr gut durchdacht und hochwertig. Der Besitzer war extrem freundlich und hat uns viele tolle Tipps gegeben, die sich alle als sehr gut herausgestellt haben. Außerdem konnten wir unsere Wäsche waschen und direkt im Trockner trocknen. Das ist im Urlaub unglaublich praktisch, da man so deutlich weniger mitnehmen muss. Insgesamt war wirklich alles perfekt. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Es gibt nichts auszusetzen wenn man ein Auto hat :)

We really enjoyed Holly House, which is in a quiet location in a "gated" community (the gate was never locked, and the security guard was generally off patrolling), a little outside of the main town. The bedrooms (and beds) were large, there was ample space in the main bedroom closet to store one's clothes, and the showers were the best we encountered in Costa Rica (spacious with plentiful hot water and lots of water pressure and flow). The living room furniture was comfortable, and there was some exercise equipment and (importantly) space to use it. Diego (the host's representative) was responsive and helpful, and we appreciated having a washer/dryer (plus soap!). The full kitchen was small but functional. We appreciated that there were multiple AC units across the house (including both bedrooms). For those who need to work, there are multiple desks and a desk chair in an alcove off the kitchen. And we had the BEST animal viewing of our entire trip in Costa Rica (for free!) in a tree across the street from the house: a 2-toed sloth that was munching leaves on a low hanging branch. So cute!

We included these to encourage improvement (or note something that could be an issue for some), but the property was our favorite in CR (where you have to temper your expectations, especially around a hot shower). It would have been nice not to have to wait for the security guard to show up at the gate for the final directions to the property. Although it's self-check in, you do have to meet up at some point with the host's representative for payment (cash only). It would have been helpful to have more information about appliances and amenities, like user manuals for the oven contraption, dehumidifier, and spa and the hours and location of the community pool. (Hopefully, this will be done soon and push the property into a solid 10.) Good ventilation--and humidity--can be an issue if you don't run the dehumidifier (there was no instruction manual). There are no fans in the bathrooms and only screens on 2 little windows, so you can't get good airflow without insects (including mosquitoes). The kitchen has most amenities anyone would want (including a full size refrigerator and free ground coffee), but the very limited counterspace in the kitchen can be frustrating. (We used the desks in the nearby alcove to store our non-perishables.) We had a car, so it wasn't an issue to stay a little out of town (opposite the side of where most tourist attractions are located), and we enjoyed the quieter, more residential location. But this distance could pose an inconvenience for those without a car.

Lugar espacioso, limpio, organizado. Facil de llegar al lugar. Las fotos no le hacen justicia a la maravilla de lugar, Te sientes rodeado de naturaleza.

Lo unico que no me gusto' fue que no lo encontre facilmente en Waze, podrian agregarlo en waze y google maps.

La casa está ubicada dentro de un condominio con seguridad 24 hs lo cual la hace segura y tranquila, sin ruido. Desde el patio solo se escucha el sonido de la naturaleza (incluido un arroyo cercano). La casa es amplia, cuenta con 2 habitaciones y 2 baños (uno en suite) y esta muy bien equipada, no tuvimos que comprar nada para el hogar, eso es un plus. Tiene aire acondicionado en todos los ambientes, es muy cómoda y recomendable. También ante cualquier duda tuvimos presente a Diego, el gerente, quien siempre se mostró bien predispuesto a ayudarnos.

Nada para criticar, es una hermosa casa ubicada a minutos en auto del centro de la Fortuna
