    If you are in the Kansai area, visiting Himeji for example, do yourself a favour and book a night here in this renovated historical building. The food was mind-blowingly superb in every aspect, the staff were lovely and accommodating (do contact them in advance with any queries), there was even an English info sheet and dinner menu printed for us. The rooms are clean and beautifully done. The only things to note were that sound really travels so we had to be very mindful which can be tricky - even speaking in a 'normal' volume or laughing with a friend might sound loud to the next room. Note there weren't any complaints but we were just aware of it. Also, there are no blinds for the bath area - it's a clear glass panel which looks gorgeous but could be impractical for friends as you need to cross that space to use the toilet and sinks while someone else bathes. Still a small matter though, honestly.

    Authentic vibes from a 300yr old wooden building. Very delicious food. Comfortable and enjoyable all around!
