About this cottage rental
This cozy cottage is freshly remodeled and is just a 5 minute ferry ride away from Anacortes on a quaint 20 car ferry. It has an open floor plan and is bright and sunny with a view of the water and mountains. It has cedar sided walls and a gas fire stove. The master bedroom has a queen bed in a room with a large picture window that looks out on a native garden. This bedroom has a walk in closet and a master bath with tub and shower. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and an adjoining remodeled bath with a tiled in shower. There is a separate bunk room with 2 twin beds… perfect for kids. There is public beach access and a boat launch a short distance away. There are miles of beaches and roads for walking and a mountain hike with stunning views. It’s a perfect place to get away for a peaceful week or weekend. There is no cable on the island so internet only. Smart TV with Netflix provided.

Lovely stay at Guemes Island. The antique decor was a nice touch (check out the history of the Island and weaving dogs). We were the first ones to use the cabin this season which explained why it needed to be aired out and our encounter with a few house spiders. I wish I knew that the bedroom with both twin beds was not connect to the house but in a separate structure with no bathroom. The view from the house was gorgeous, the local pheasant was a hit and the beach lots of fun. The locals extremely friendly. We prefer softer mattresses and we had a hard time sleeping. After checking with manager about mattress toppers, we ended up purchasing 1 and 2 airmatresses by going to Walmart in Mount Vernon. If you don't like harder mattresses, plan on bringing your own toppers - This should not deter you from renting the house, it is our preference. There is only 1 store that also serves as a restaurant. Terrible experience, waited for an hour only to find out they had closed the kitchen 30 min prior. Unprofessional and rude young adults, couldn't even process a refund, still charged us for drinks we would've not ordered, no apology. Make sure to bring enough food to cook all your meals and enough entertainment. There is no laundry, so bring enough clothes and beach towels. This is an island you go for a lovely retreat from our crazy lifestyle. A place to rest and enjoy the gorgeous views. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. I recommend the place!
