Room in Portsmouth close to Fratton Station

The location being close to a train station was helpful. We took the Uber in the next day to catch the Brittany ferries. There was a kitchen where we could cook dinner with basic supplies including stove, microwave and fridge. There's a washing machine/dryer combo unit. There were no other guests there when we were there so we could spread out. It was very quiet. Since the host is not on site it was a relief that the lock codes and locks were easy to use and they were clear instructions. Bedding was clean and USB cell phone chargers in handy locations. There's a full grocery store within walking distance and many restaurants. It's an international neighborhood with a variety of different people living in apartments.. you're a nice touches in the house.

Wi-Fi wasn't working when we were there. We were given the codes but it did not show up on our phones. And without Wi-Fi the TV won't work. It's a Roku TV so that would have been nice. Most of the rooms are on the second floors on a very narrow staircase. That might be difficult for some people but we have backpacks so it worked for us. The kitchen could use few more items such as a cutting board and dishes that could be microwaved ( the ones there look like they have gold inlay, pretty but not microwavable).

im Nachhinein war der Vermieter per SMS hilfsbereit, mir zur Unterkunft Zugang zu beschaffen. Das mir das zuvor nicht gelang, war mein eigener Fehler, da ich auf meinem Mobil eine Nachricht vom Vermieter übersehen hatte, in dem er beschrieb, mit welchen Zugangscodes man in die Unterkunft gelangen kann. In der Küche gab es einen Kühlschrank, wo man seine Lebensmittel kühlen konnte. Das Wasser in der Dusche war heiß genug.

Nicht gefallen hat mir, dass man auf meine telefonische Anfrage, wo genau der Eingang der Unterkunft wäre, nur knapp antwortete, auflegte und dann für ca. 20-25 Minuten nicht mehr erreichbar war. Da ich die Mail mit den Zugangsdaten übersehen hatte, stand ich nun vor verschlossenen Türen und hatte keinen Rat, wie ich nun hineingelangen könnte. Auch wenn es mein Fehler war, die entsprechend Mail übersehen zu haben, hätte ich mir vom Vermieter mehr Unterstützung erwartet, als den Hinweis, nach der richtigen Hausnummer zu suchen und dann einfach aufzulegen. Vor allem, wenn man abends um 21.15 Uhr nach einer langen, anstrengenden Radtour auf der Straße steht. Mich so lange warten zu lassen, fand ich nicht nett. In meinem Zimmer waren keine Handtücher, die musste ich mir auf Nachfrage selber von einem Wäschehalter unter der Treppe beschaffen. Für mich grundsätzlich kein kein Problem, fiel mir aber negativ auf, da ich mich vorher schon geärgert hatte. Die ganze Nacht hindurch hörte ich ein Brummen, ähnlich einer Lüftung. Da ich glücklicherweise Ohr-Stöpsel mitgenommen hatte, war das dann ok.
