Open Mind Property - HotTub, 8 Beds & 2 Car Spaces

Very clean and spacious

Just could do with some lighting around the hot tub, was quite dark once security light went out. That's the only thing I could say

Location, bedrooms a good size and space for a large group. The property management was very helpful and accommodating to our requests.

The property needs to be deep cleaned (there were sweets wrappers all over the house, popcorn on the sofa and the floors felt sticky). The house also felt like it needed a bit of TLC. Also, the kitchen is a bit small for the number of guests.

The property is conveniently located near shops and is within walking distance of Southsea seafront, the city and historic dockyards. The are lots of beds to choose from if you are underoccupied. The two parking spaces were appreciated. The property lacked a couple of things we needed but they were supplied within a short time of requesting them,

The stay was marred by the owners insisting I upload a copy of my driving licence which I was not happy to do. There is no mention of this requirement in the booking listing, had there been I would have booked a different property. There is ample room to add this to the listing so people can make an informed choice. I had to eventually upload a redacted copy as they refused to give me the access code without it, totally unacceptable. I will be making a complaint to Booking.com regarding this. When we booked the property it was advertised as 'recently refurbished', this is clearly not true as it is quite obvious the property hasn't been touched in some time. (I am pleased to say they have now removed this statement from the listing.) The walls were covered in scuffs and marks, the bathrooms were musty and very dated. You couldn't use more than one shower at a time due to hot water supply. The downstairs toilet had no towel or toilet roll holder. The kitchen was well equipped but some of the pans either need a good clean or replacing. One of the beds hadn't been changed since the last guests but as we had enough others to choose from it wasn't a problem. The beds are like concrete but accept mattress firmness is a personal choice but be warned if you have hip or back problems. In general the whole place just felt a bit grubby and in need of a refurb. I don't like leaving negative reviews but the listing was misleading about the condition of the property and the requirement to upload personal documents.
