Great place with a good location, friendly and welcoming staff, and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.

Overall, I liked everything, but the beds were uncomfortable, especially the small single bed.

The experience was amazing! The extras of treats, bottle of wine, outdoor and water toys, foozeball table added to the whole Bruce Peninsula/Tobermory experience! Great job to the property owners/manager(s)

We stayed in this cottage for 2 nights. The cottage is in a beautiful location, next to the Peninsula National Park, about ten minutes from “the Grotto” and 20 minutes from the charming little town of “Tobermory” which I would also recommend visiting. The cottage looks larger in the photos but is actually a bit smaller. It's a cottage in the middle of nature, so what interested us most was enjoying the outdoors more than the indoors. Otherwise, it has everything you need for a great holiday. The ad doesn't mention certain things that could make your stay more enjoyable such as the fact that there is a canoe or a “foosball soccer table” my daughter loved the little tournament we had together in family”. The owner is very attentive to the safety and maintenance of his cottage, which I appreciated. Also, the rental agency sends you regular messages to make sure the tenants don't need anything. I needed to contact them once and they were responsive. We had a great time with the family, we'll go back without hesitation and I highly recommend it to those who like to spend time in the great outdoors.

However, I think that a small investment of a few hundred dollars can add more pleasure and comfort of the tenants, such as changing the curtains and sheets (nothing serious, they just seem to be too old and a bit dusty for the curtains: let's not forget that we're in the middle of a forest, so there's a lot of dust, so the dust needs to be removed more often). Also, the bed in the main bedroom was moving a bit, maybe it would be a good idea to replace it or adjust it.

The location is definitely the biggest selling point. It’s on a lovely, small lake and only about a 20-minute drive into town and 15 minutes to the national park. The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed to cook all of our meals, and the welcome treats were a thoughtful touch. The Wi-Fi was also strong enough to stream on the TV, which was appreciated. Overall, it’s a peaceful and fairly basic place that works well as a base if you’re planning to spend most of your days out exploring.

This is someone’s home rather than a holiday home, and for the price, I expected it to feel a little more comfortable and well maintained. The shower is very small and located in the stairwell, and the shower head is rusted/discoloured and needs replacing. Lots of spiders and creepy crawlies live inside the house, which doesn’t bother me but something to be aware of. There are also several small things that could easily be upgraded, such as the stained couch cushions, adding a proper headboard to the primary bedroom, and replacing the very basic two-slice toaster. A few practical details also made the stay less convenient: the gas tank wasn’t connected to the BBQ, there were no instructions for using the indoor fireplace, and we received contradictory and incorrect checkout instructions, which was an unnecessary distraction. I also felt that signing such a lengthy rental agreement and paying a security deposit seemed excessive for a fairly basic property. Finally, I wasn’t comfortable with the cameras on the property being used to check that the correct number of guests had arrived as they weren’t clearly visible or obvious. Overall, the property has potential, but a few relatively inexpensive upgrades and clearer communication would make it feel much more like a vacation home and better justify the price.
