We recommend Isla Linaw mainly for its location in Gen Luna town proper, walking distance to tourists' basic needs: food, beach, party, Watson's, transpo - where the action is. The narrow street between Isla Linaw and Tourism Road, however, is rough and easily gets flooded and muddy when it rains. We didn't mind, but some people may be sensitive about this detail. Considering the general price of food and commodities in Siargao, the room rates are pretty reasonable. There's very little space inside, no cabinets nor shelves for tenants' clothes and stuff, but they do provide a clothes drying rack outside the room and you can request for additional hangers. Takes a toll on your peace of mind though, especially if your wet clothes are precious or expensive. It's moderately clean, not pristine, but not filthy either. Lots of room for improvement especially in the bathroom. The exhaust fan, the walls and floor, the toilet bowl, the shower head, the drain - these need regular deep-cleaning. Also - a shower water heater would really be great, especially for us people who aren't used to showering with cold water. Staff are barely visible. And we're guessing that being short-staffed explains the overall imperfect state of cleanliness. We saw more dogs than staff during our entire 5-day stay. There was no "orientation " but we found the drinking water, the kitchen, and utensils on our second day. We'd still recommend the place though. We had fun.
