2 bedrooms max 2 people with one private bathroom in lovely home

It felt like I was staying with wonderful locals in Harlem. My hosts, Razia and Harvey, are also excellent musicians. (You can listen to their music and performances on Spotify.) It was great to get to know them—they proudly balance their careers with their personal lives. I also appreciate how close it is to LaGuardia Airport. If traffic isn’t heavy, the drive takes less than 30 minutes. (I actually made it to the airport in 14 minutes early one morning.) There’s a grocery store with an ATM just a 5-minute walk away. You take your shoes off as soon as you step inside the front door. This custom, which is similar to what’s done in Japan, made me feel both clean and comfortable. If I have the chance again, I’ll definitely stay here. By the way, the room I stayed in wasn’t pictured on this website, but it was lovely.

Here are a few tips for anyone considering a stay here. You’ll be given a key to the front door, but there are generally no keys for the rooms themselves. This doesn’t seem to be their policy, but rather a legal requirement. Since multiple guests who don’t know each other may be staying at the same time, this isn’t ideal for people who are looking for the complete freedom you’d find at a hotel. Be sure to read the house rules carefully before booking. There may be different points to note depending on the room, so I recommend asking questions if you have any.

The hosts, Razia and Harvey were wonderful and friendly. They made us feel at home and comfortable. I feel like I made lifelong friends. Their home is immaculate and beautiful.

The room, hosting by Razia and Harvey and location were all perfect for us. We are active people so walked through Central Park to Midtown to explore NY. Very easy to catch the subway if prefer

The apartment is great and the location is fantastic

Unfortunately we felt more like unwanted intruders than like guests. We were welcomed with a long list of rules and regulations and immediately admonished for having a third guest (in a two-bedroom apartment that sleeps 4) and asked to pay more. I understand the need for rules, and the people I interacted with in person were kind and well-meaning, but the interactions as a whole made us feel very uncomfortable.
