Scent Chalet - Scent Village

I arrived at 9:30pm and it was a bit difficult to find someone in that kind of secluded place. I actually love the place because it’s surrounded by nature but at the same time there was major language issues. There is no water refill, however the lady gave me 2 bottles of water for free. I wanted to extend my stay but I found it difficult to stay at that location without a motorbike. Also, I didn’t find many food options, there was restaurant at the property with limited options. Once again, it’s a beautiful property surrounded by nature with its limitations that comes with a secluded place.

Very basic accommodation but was clean and comfortable and extremely well priced. Nice location with forest all around. Our kids loved playing with the resident dogs. Try the Vietnamese restaurant next door too- we had a fabulous meal there.

We enjoyed our stay here so much that we extended it. A perfect place to relax. Very friendly hosts, cute friendly dogs, clean rooms and clean bathrooms! Outside of town but close enough that you can quickly run to town if needed. Amazing stay!

The first night we where here was good, the room was clean (though a hole had been burnt through the blanket) and we had no real complains, we asked to extend and where moved to a different room for the rest of the stay, and that’s when things went awfully. We where woken up by staff banging on the door at 9am to tell us to leave as the next guests where here, despite the fact check out is meant to be at 12 and we where not allowed to check in early the day before. We had come to dalat by sleeper bus and so were looking forward to a lay in and a good nights rest. We get up and are moved to one of the downstairs rooms. The second we walked in the smell hit us. It was as if someone had drenched the room in urine and dumped buckets of dirty water on the floor then locked the door and windows to make sure it rotted. The bedding clearly hadn’t been changed in months, so we had to call to ask a cleaner to bring us some new sheets, the second we took the pillow cases off we saw they were covered in mould, and had to request separately for new ones to be brought. The room was a magnet for bugs, as in there where more in and appearing inside than there where outside, it looks like gnats where breeding in the sink, as though we cleaned the dead ones every evening before we went to bed, the bathroom would be filled and dirty again by morning. The only upside is the view and the camp fire which was lovely, except we where told it would be 300 dong to use the firewood - only to find out that the “fire wood” is a pile of moulding planks that had been left out in the rain for months, and most of which where way too long to use for a fire regardless. If you can stay in the superior villa room I would recommend, but otherwise I’d find somewhere else.
