An absolutely fantastic apartment in Kaprun

This place is amazing. The location is great. IT's at the back so can't hear the noise from the street. Billa supermarket can be seen from the apartment and is only a 2 minute walk. It's on the side of Kaprun closer to Kitzsteinhorn but to access Zell am See, the Kaprun tunnel is just around the corner so no need to drive through slow streets of Kaprun. The apartment is on the ground floor so easy access. There's an underground parking (actually, 2 spots are assigned to it) which is a bit narrow so might be a problem for extra big cars. There's a "ski storage" which is just a basement cellar. There are not boot driers so bring your own or leave your skiing gear at Maiskogel where you can rent ski storage. Also, it's not the safest storage so if you have really expensive skis you may be a bit weary of leaving it there. There's also a washing machine and dryer in the basement that is used by the building and it's 2 euros per 2hr 40 minutes, each. The apartment has a small garden that would be quite nice in summer to sit at and enjoy the evening. Floor heating is great and the temperature can be adjusted. There's a separate toilet and bathroom (weird thing is that the toilet does not have any heating so the floor is a bit cold on a winter night). 2 Bedrooms are nicely laid out and equipped. The open space living area is large with a big TV mounted on a wall (not like what it looks like on the photos). Also, the L shaped couch in the photos is old and has been replaced, albeit the new one has already been damaged (people just don't care). Dining table is big and can accommodate 8 people. The kitchen is nice and has almost everything you need. The fridge is large (for European standards) but the freezer is tiny (not that you need one). All in all a really great apartment that I recommend.

I can't think of anything other than ski boot driers but I bring my own anyway.

Fair place to stay in Kaprun

The apartment was warm, friendly and big enough for a family of 3, it was pretty clean, the kitchen is well equipped. It is on the ground floor, with a good view and protected from the road noise. The living room is big, and the terrace is also great. There is a basement garage, with 2 parking places for this apartment. Easy to find, there are restaurants around, but quite far if you intend to walk with the boots on to the slope...

Well, the worst thing about this apartment are the mattresses. Every bed is matrimonial size, but instead of a single big mattress, there are in fact two small ones. And during the night they fell apart, and you find yourself sleeping between them, which is very uncomfortable. Big disappointment on this, we stayed one week and we couldn't get a good sleep. The second worst thing is the toilet room. All the apartment has floor heating, which is great, except the toilet room, which has no heating. And man, that gets damn cold over the night, so in the morning, when you go there...it is like going outside... I would mention also the bed sheets, which were beige color. I can understand the reasons, but I really hate to find this color when I travel, you cannot know if they are clean or not... and for sure they were not ironed...we ended up washing everything...yes, there is a washing machine with drier too... There is also the deposit. They charge a 500 Eur deposit, and this is released 4 days after the checkout. I have no problem with a deposit, but I think the amount was too big.
